ok so you are week early, but my season is over, and hands down, the winner is.....

THE PASS

Jayme Barnes pass in traffic to take the lead on that historic night at Dirt Cup 2008. It is very possibly the best racing moment I have ever had the pleasure of seeing or being any part of.

In fact, I am almost certain it is my top racing memory ever. Not many can compare.

Driving home Saturday night after the FBM, feeling a little dejected that we fell short of our hopes and expectations for the weekend.........................

then looking over at my sleeping passenger and coming to the realization that after his first season with everything on the line - he was still safe, sound, and with his dad - just like before we started the adventure.

I slowed down and enjoyed the drive home while he snored away.  It was music to my ears.

:)

Well race season isn't quite over for me yet, still got couple more weeks left, you guys already mentioned Jayme Barnes so I would have to say Blair Shoemaker becoming the first Washington driver winning the modified nationals.

Mine was my maiden voyage to Silver Dollar Speedway in May for the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial weekend. Man, I was so pulling for Kyle Hirst! :(

Next time when I go to Chico or anyplace in California for a big money race, I'll try to tag along with some fans or even a whole team. Come on, I won't bite... :)

So far....Speedweek / Willamette .  Best racing of the whole week.  Best Sprint Car race I`ve ever seen there....and to look at that dry track at about 6:00 you would have never guessed it would be good!!!!  Kudos to the track crew that night for taking the time and waiting for the sun to go down a bit....  Watching Lasoski and Crockett dual each other and lapping traffic at the same time was incredable!  Still looking forward to Yakadega this weekend.  Hope the track is better than last year!

I say since he doesn't like it, let's just call him Jayme. :)  The guy is amazing as far as I'm concerned.  Top notch sprint car driver.

Kelly, I agree.  "The Pass" or "The Move" is my favorite NW memory, by far.  Also enjoyed watching the modifieds at Skagit.  Good times.

My favorite racing memory this year is the weekend I spent in FL with my Dad.  6 tracks in 3 days.  Sitting in the stands at Daytona watching the Duel at Daytona with Dad.  Volusia County Speedway watching the UMP Late Models.  Good stuff.  One of the best weekends of my life.  Hope to do that sometime again soon.

I have a few, (of course) but seeing my brother be so successful this year was a season I will never forget~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  EVER, watching my grandson sit in the stands where 4 generations have sat and watched a truly great sport and watching him learn how to roll down the hill, that was comical, watching Jayme win Dirt Cup, totally awesome, Kelsey winning the championship and the move on the last lap of the A Sportsman Main to win, Barry winning the championship, but will stand it in my mind was the memorials to the fallen victims, the sky divers, Kalebs kind words, Kelseys dedication and the way friends came together for this event!      T H A N K S:(

For me, I would have to say the greatest memory would be the whole season.... We had some goals going into this year and we have met them all.... Chico in May, Jayme at Dirt Cup, Speedweek, A-mains, top 5 or 6 at Elma, 360 show, Outlaws, the RPM, the FBM, all of the great people in this racing family... and it has been one of those years that we will look back on and say it was all worth it..... and the racing isn't even over yet.
Yakidega this weekend, and hopefully Chico next week (with a bit of help needed)...
Then it's time to put the cars to bed, pull out the sticks and board, get them waxed up and get ready to teach some new people how to have fun in the snow....

Would have to say Jayme Barnes winning the Dirt Cup along with "the pass" at Dirt Cup was my favorite memory.  Second would have to be Jason Solwold winning the first night of the World of Outlaws at Skagit Speedway.

If we can't get the funding to make it to Chico, then yes, Lebanon is the back up plan. Still need some help in getting to and from.... just hope the weather doesn't do what it did last year, that is one of the reasons we went to Chico.
