Ok.... I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna see if my arm band bracelet from Yakima will last till the beginning of the 2009 racing season. Place your bets now as to how long you think the little sucker will actually hold on.... or how long it will last before it gets too gross and I have to cut it off.
I'll even provide monthly photo updates of my pit pass arm band status. Now... don't get too excited y'all...

Those suckers are pretty tough! I bet you could keep it on all winter long. I bet that will look good with your new years eve gown! lol
I think they should pay your pit pass into the first race of the season if you can...there's an idea.

Were the wristbands the tyvek ones, plastic, or really expensive vinyl bands?

Do you shower daily?
If so it won't last 3 months. I've tested it already!

Umm.... what's a shower???
Ok... now it's really a challenge. I've gotta make it last just to prove 10_Racing wrong!!! And my shower soap is strong enough for a man, but PH balanced for a woman. I think that PH-ness will be gentler on the adhesive...
SSands... it's just a regular 'ol cheap one. Didn't even know they had fancy ones. I want a fancy one next year!!!
cssprint... I'm thinking if I glue some rhinestones to it... it will look quite nice with the New Year's Eve dress. Although... Yakima handed out orange wrist bands on Saturday. ORANGE IS SO 2008!!! Even Tony Stewart won't be wearing orange anymore... and he's a fashion disaster!!!
Yes Digi... I'm bored...

I guess the tyvek will last 22 days with one shower a day and no direct heat or water, or snagging. The adhesive will go before the tyvek.
You can get really fancy with wristbands, pink glittery ones, holograms, glow in the dark, heat/pressure sensitive, 3d bar coded, tabbed, photo realistic imprinted, transferable by snaps... Just depends on how much you want spend.

I don't think people buy the fancy ones. I've only seen them in sample packets.
If there is a business out there that wants to have their name on pink glittery ones, I'm sure there is a track that would set up the sponsorship package to do so.

I'm guessing your bracelet will stay intact on Thanksgiving. I'm not sure about Christmas or New Year's. If it's still in one piece and the number is still visible, does that mean you can get in the pits for free next season?

Again with the-
"Help I need attention... Quick somebody talk to me or princess will cry." Hey I know- I'll keep my arm band on--
I agree with the above post.. I cannot imagine why you would do this either? and WHY decide to share / talk about it to us. Do yourself a favor, cut it off and be a big girl now.

It's partly a science project. The kids I work with wanna see how long it will last too. I also do it so my stalker (Tell it Straight) has something to b!tch about...

LOL... it's still holding on... but it's looking pretty rough. If Miller's lasted three months... he may have me beat.
Now what was the ruling on duct tape again??? That will probably be the only way this sucker lasts till next season... but... we'll see.

Damn... It fell off today. I have no idea where it went. Just lasted a little over a month. How very disappointing...

Uhmm.......Cuz it's still a Free Country?
Since racing season is over, the wierd makes for good conversations!
I save Chance's wrist bands from every race and put them in his racing scrap book with written details of that race. Wierd? Nope! Just helping to preserve the memories.

I was kinda close in the prediction if you go by the date you posted the challenge (Oct. 1) and not the date the wristband was applied. If this was the Price is Right, I would of won right?

THAT's what I wanted to do!!!! Damn showers.... lol....
RevDave: HOLY SMOKES!!! Acutally though... I'm surprised that isn't a common story.
ChancesMom: That's right........ I can't help that I'm weird. I was just born that way. And very cute idea with the wrist bands in the scrap book. I've actually thought about doing that too.... making a scrapbook with my favorite pictures I take at each race along with things like arm bands and ticket stubs and such. Too much going on last year... but maybe I'll do it this year. Like you said... it preserves some great memories in a fun way.
SSands: You were close. It went on the wrist on the 27th of Sept... so you were just about bang on. If I ever find my wrist band I'll save it for you as your "price is right" prize...
cssprint: Yep... next year baby!!! Maybe I'll cheat and use duct tape like K9 suggested...
