Brings to mind the issue of safety at the tracks;

Just hope this guy will be ok.

Man, that is just horrible, Hopefully he can recover.

It does bring to mind safety at the track, How come nobody was out there?? 5 minutes?!

It just goes to show you, that tracks around here, one being Grays Harbor Raceway, have the best firecrew around.

A Couple Years Back.... At Deming... there was a fire incident...with Brad Davidsons #11 600 Minisprint starting on fire with a punched gas tank, that was right before they went to the mandatory bladder rule....

The Deming Safety crew jumped in and I was amazed.... They Did an AWESOME job... I believe Brad had like a dime sized burn was all... But I was proud of the job that EVERYONE did to make sure that brad would be helped to safety....

As the mother of a young driver.... THIS is my worst fear.... I KNEW.... racing at Deming after that incident ---we were in good hands...i

I did however invest in a 100.00 Fire blanket... for the hubby so that if he had to run into the fire to help our son or someone else....  It is not always ON TRACK that a fire can occur.... It can happen in the pits just as easy....The driver has a little protection from the fire to work with --undergarmets, socks, suit gloves  etc....

BUT... A pit crew member, Father, mother, brother, etc.. should have something as well... a firesuit, a fire blanket.... Fire gloves.... SOMETHING... or in that situation... it will be the crew member that gets burned in trying to help... ;D    It seems that family members that are in the pits usually react to the wrecks sometimes along with the safety crew---

----Just my thoughts.. on this nightmare of a situation that we all have to be thoughtful of...

----Starla

Very, very sad and heart breaking. 5 minutes is just way too long!

I am so greatful for the excellent fire crew we have at Willamette Speedway!

Our thoughts and prayers of strength and a full recovery to this young driver and his family.

This is sad news...this has that same storyline as that terrible fire at Spanaway Speedway. :(

Thoughts go out to the family.

This brings back memories of Doug Wolfgang and Ken Longley.

Looks like they needed the Elma Evergreen Safety Crew.

My Dad was burned in a in home accident. Burns take a very long time to heal. Prayers to the family.
