They had 32 late models, 27 hobby stocks. The WAY COOL part was the late models runa FULL FIELD invert. Sorry O do not remeber the 37 cars name but John Duty was 2nd and I think Walters in the 97 was 3rd. New track record was set 14.310 by the 3V car then he broke in his heat. Soory dont have name but it was a great show. Not a bad week, 2 nights of DC and 1 Night of late models.

Any one know who the highest crate was? They were at a severe disadvantage on a big track.

One last thing for now.. I want to thank everyone of the drivers that came up for this show. Great bunch of folks. Also want to say thank you to George Wade and Bill Arnold for bringing these cars back to Grays Harbor Raceway. If you have never seen them run on a track this big, you are really missing something. They are unbelievable to watch. I can't believe we don't have them running in Washington on a regular basis. Maybe with the help of promoters like George and Bill we will get to see them more but it takes fans to keep em coming back. Anybody that was there saturday night and was not excited better go to the doctor. I don't think you have a pulse!

It looked like his car jus wasn't very good for the main. Must have missed it on the setup.

I can't wait for the next race.

I assumed Biffle had a crate engine in. It looked underpowered. Walters definately didn't have a crate in (I looked) and looked very strong early in the main but then seemed to fade.

rick, the 17 is a client of mine, and a good friend as well, Mike Desilva. How'd he do? He was pretty hyped to get to run the 'big track' up there.

Yeah that 3v of Casey Vitale was hooked up, here is his qualifying run and new track record:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeqW-tUnihE

Over the next couple of days should get the rest of the videos I did uploaded, I wasn't able to get the Late Model A-Main and only the first 12 laps or so of the Hobby Main before I had to leave for work, should have more posted tomorrow night, might try to get a couple loaded before I leave for work tomorrow.

Nice pic of the #34!  Enjoyed meeting you too, rickt!  Thanks for the stickers!

We too missed the set up and had the wrong gears but still managed to pull off a 7th place finish in the B main.  We'll be better in September!......as will all of the LM drivers!  We all learned Saturday evening from our first visit to Elma.

We did survive the storm better than 95% of the Late Models.  They had 6 or 7 motors go south, lots and lots of broken suspension parts and even more body damage.  Our driver and motor is still entact.  The air compressor will fix our flat and a few nuts/bolts will fix the broken body mounts.  The winnings will help replace the 3 lost mud plugs.  Chance also picked up a couple of driver line jobs after the race!

The posts are correct..........Walters was not running his crate motor.  Biffle was.  Yup.........need them thar big HP engines at Elma.  Us little guys could only keep the hammer down, stay out of trouble and finish.

While at the Rusty Tractor for breakfast Sunday morning with a group of LM drivers, we had several of the locals take the time to stop and tell us how much they enjoyed the LM show.   All said they would be at the Sept. race!  An out of town couple were camped at the RV park up the road from the track, heard the noise and jaunted over to check it out.  First time they had ever been to a dirt track and said they are making a special trip back in Sept. just to watch the LM's!  How cool is that?

Just wished the track surface had of been better.  Track promotor asked us after the race where we thought he could improve........ said he would work on getting the track a bit smoother next time for the LM's.  We all thought it very considerate of him to even ask!

Nice facility there and nice folks!

See you all in September!

Two perfect race tracks. If you take the clay from Graysharbor Raceway and put it at Skagit. Then take the equipment and experience of track prep from Skagit and put it at Graysharbor Raceway you have two perfect tracks.

Those LM's belong at Graysharbor Raceway once a month. Just incredible

Don't get me wrong, I've always been an open wheel fan, but a few nights a year of late models, mods, and hobby stocks would be my ideal show to watch at GHR.

In case you hadn't talked to Mikey I just talked to him and he said he got 3rd in the B main and they transfered 2. He said he slipped in time ins but won his heat and worked his way from the back of the B to 3rd.

The best way to get them back again, and maybe more races is to let the promoter of Elma know how much you enjoyed them and would go again if they came back. I know that Bill(I-5) would like to have them at Elma more then once a year. The fans are really what determine where they go. I-5 always has a great contingent of traveling late models.

You are correct let the promoter know .. but you can see them again in Elma on September 13.
