This Saturday night at Grays Harbor Raceway it is Military Appreciation Night, supporting our troops. All Active, Retired, Reserve and National Guard personal as well as spouses with current Military ID will be admitted free to the event.  The Whitney’s Auto Group ASCS 360 Sprint Cars, Shipwreck Beads Modifieds,  Cut Rate Auto Parts Hobby Stocks,  and HiLine Homes Hornets will all be in action on the fast, high banked 3/8’s mile clay oval.

In the Whitney’s Auto Group ASCS 360 Sprint Car division the point standings continue to flip flop every week in the closest points battle in years.  Raymond’s Glenn Borden, Jr. jumped back into the top spot with 1276 points after winning his second feature of the year on July 26th, he is closely followed by Shelton’s Jay Cole with 1272 points.  Point’s leader going into the last race was Tacoma’s Shawn Rice.  Rice had a great run going until a broken driveline ended his night early dropping him out of the points lead. Rice trails  Cole by 12 points at 1260.  Henry Van Dam from Enumclaw continues in fourth place with a fine showing last race that ended with a very close second place to Borden and is only two points behind Rice at 1258.  With only 18 points separating the top four in points, the championship will go right down to the last race. Top Rookie of the year contender TJ Hartman from Puyallup continues his consistent pace and round out the top five with 1206 points

Shipwreck Beads Modified point leader Blair Shoemaker from Tacoma will look to make it two main event features in a row this Saturday after coming off the biggest win of his career at the Modified Nationals last Saturday.   He became the first local driver to win  the 9th annual Shipwreck Beads  Modified Nationals. Shoemaker leads last year’s Modified Champion Scott Miller from Shelton by 20 points 1130 to 1110.  Rochester’s Leroy Lawhead continues to hold down third with 1096 points, followed by Seabeck driver James Wolford with 1044.  McCleary’s Jeff Foster who had at great showing at the Modified Nationals with a sixth place finish, rounds out the top five with 1020 points and will be looking for his first win of the year.

In the Cut Rate Hobby Stock point standings Aberdeen driver’s hold down the first two positions in another extremely close battle.  Joe German leads Jack Parshall Jr. by a slim 6 points 1150 to 1144. Both of these drivers are looking for their first ever championship.  Centralia’s Scott Westley sits in third with 1120 points followed by Bremerton’s Keith Knowlton with 1084 and Elma’s Joe Deibert with 1070.

In the HiLine Homes Hornet division Eddie Blood from Olympia leads the standings with a big 140 point lead over Brian Izzi, 728 to 588.  Kevin Krentz sits in third with 574, Cliff Gill holds down fourth with 568 and Jeff Monroe rounds out the top five with 430 points
