This is what I heard: he was hit while applying the white chalk line; right now is enroute to Harborview via a helicopter lifeflight. He needed to be brought back to life after he was hurt…pray for this very, very good man and his lovely family!

I'm trying very hard not to panic here, but that is what I heard also-if someone can put updates on him here, please do so!
I really want to hear that he will be all right, and have sent about dozen prayers already.
Please God, let Fred be OK! Be with Debbie and his family and comfort them.

I am speechless as well. I had to read the message a few more times just to make sure that I saw it right.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Debbie and the rest of the family. R.I.P. Fred. Thank you so very much for making the racing contingent here in the Pacific Northwest as strong as it is. You are well known and well respected. You will be missed.

We are just stunned here at Skagit tonight. We heard the news and had a moment of silence for him. He will be missed. I'm so worried about Debbie right now.

My wife and I were shocked when we heard the news last night. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Debbie and the rest of the Brownfield family, as well as everyone associated with Brownfield Promotions. We pray also for the driver who hit Fred, can't imagine the emotional trauma he must be going through right now.

I was saddened to read about this yesterday. Although I don't believe I ever met Fred, I was hoping to when the NST came to Nebraska in August, or possibly at Knoxville.
My family's condolences and prayers go out to the Brownfield family in their time of sorrow.
Godspeed Fred. I'm sure you'll be organizing races in the great beyond.

I feel it's time for me to add a word or two. These are my thoughts only, and in no way is this an official statement from skagit speedway or any of the other staff.
I never had the chance to meet Fred Brownfield personally. Being only my second year @ the track, I only know of what others said about him. I realize now word of mouth is a horrible way to judge someone.
The thing that i'm feeling at the moment is sorrow...not for myself, but for the people who knew Fred and are feeling pain. The pain everyone is feeling at the moment is clear. Not only drivers, but crewmen, car owners, sponsors, vendors, and fans. The statement that I've heard from everyone is that no matter who you are, Fred always made time to make you feel important. If it required him staying till 2 in the morning just to say hey how are you, thank you for coming, etc., he would do it.
Regardless of whether or not we agreed with some his business decisions, Fred Brownfield was part of the racing family. He should and will be missed by all. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and all those who are grieving right now from the loss.

| Well said Kaleb, I did know Fred and have since I was very young, he was a class act, I just told a friend today that Debbie is one of those people, that you are truly happy finds the best in everything and everyone. Debbie and Fred worked side by side as a couple and business partners, most times laughing along the way. We have seen so many testimonies on here, and Kaleb, I really wish you could have known Fred, he would have liked you A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
