Good job, Fletch. Looks better in person though. I checked it out when I was at the office Tuesday.

y'know,   I bet 3 or 4 people would be willing to cough up some green for a copy of that.

A nice little chunk of change could be raised for a deserving charity.   Where I used to live there was a fund set up for injured race car drivers that were in need.  Checkered Flag Fan Club was the name of the organization.  Not sure if it still exists as the lady that ran it died a few years back.  It was around for a very long time though

Dont know if theres anything like that set up on the West Coast but something to make sure theres always groceries on the table when an injured driver gets in a pinch wouldnt be the worlds worst idea.

OK everyone,

Hmmmmmmm I'm up for an auction/drawing/charity. BUT I will need help from everyone. (MACK, You reading this ? ..........)

How do we go about doing this ? Who will it go to ? Is there a fund set up for injured race car drivers that are in need ?

I will get a nicely framed pic ready, post it on NWRaceTalk, and let the FUN begin. BUT I need everyones help to find a deserving charity for this. As far as I am concerned it can be donated to a good charity, and be from NWRaceTalk.com. (MACK, You reading this ? ..........)

ANYONE out there have any ideas ? Suggestions ? (MACK, You reading this ? ..........)

Fletch - I would contact three people for ideas.

Marshall(Sprintcarz) - His family is routinely involved in these types of things, and he would have great ideas where any money raised could benefit the most for all.

AND/OR -

Tad Smith & Gary Olson - These guys do so much behind the scenes it will make you wonder what world they're really from.

That would be my suggestions - let me know if you need contact info - and I raise that push truck guy $25 bucks.:P

Has anybody thought about a plaque dedicated to Fred and his contributions to the raceway? Also how about the Kasey Kahne foundation?  Thanks for the generous offer  Michelle! We can list the 5 necklaces separately if that would help raise more money. I'm assuming that Fletch will be handling the proceeds from this little adventure. Once we get it figured out you can pay him and Tracey will ship the necklaces to you.

There are five available necklaces for this little charity drive! The winner of Fletch's poster will also receive one.  I believe Michelle N has already claimed one!  The rest of the charms are not for sale. The other highest bidders win! We're just trying to help out whatever charity the nwracechat fans decide on. Thanks!:D

A suggestion?

Have an ebay type auction, but put a 3 day limit on the jewelry. Start each week at  say-Sunday noon for the one of the 4 charm necklaces that are donated ( the 5th one going to Fletchs poster winner). Bidding would end Wednesday at noon. So for the next four weeks, one necklace auctioned off per week. Winner to be PM'd with instructions on where to mail payment, then Tracy mails the winner a charm upon receipt of payment.

How does that sound?

That sounds like a great idea. She has six necklaces that she was willing to put towards the auction.  Five of them will be auctioned off and the sixth one will go to the winner of Fletches poster.  Tracey thinks the Kasey Kahne foundation would be a good choice for her little part.  That way whoever wins could write a check to the KK foundation and use it on their taxes. When all of the checks or money orders are collected they will be sent in the name of NWRacetalk.com.   We can start today and it will end Wednesday at noon. Then the next one will start and end Friday at noon and so on.  If anybody else has ideas or suggestions please let me know.   Thanks!

In the PM I got, there were only 12 of these made-6 are spoken for and not going anywhere! The winner of the poster gets one, I got one, so the remaining four are the only ones that will be available.
C'mon guys get bidding!
I will bid 5 bucks on #2 to get this going!

Ok Everyone, Let me find a suitable frame for a picture, then I will post a pic of it here. Then let the fun continue. High Bidder gets a nicely framed Pic & ORF's necklaces. Pic size will depend on finding a nice frame (smallest being 11x14, largest 20x30)  ALL DETAILS WILL BE POSTED ASAP ! :D

Lots of Great Ideas floating around out there like a Memorial for Fred, Drivers Fund @ GHR. Those take LOTS & LOTS of work.

In a few PM's & talking with people the proceeds will go to the Kasey Kahne Foundation in the Name of NWRaceTalk.Com

Gimme a few days to get things in order & the FUN will resume.

Fletch :)

Heres something new for the fund.

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f343/KevMcNJ/pic004.jpg

You'll have to click on the link.  file was too large to post.

I took the photo hanging off the back of the Pace Truck during the July 2005 NST race @ Elma.

I liked it so much I had it blown up and framed.

I had anoher copy made and framed.  It too is 8X10 and will be sent in the nice wood frame shown.

Fletch how do you want to do this?  First $20 or put it up for bid?  Or $20 for anyone who wants one?
