Believe it or not, sadly yes.
Had dinner with the Brownfield family tonight (Monday night at mom's ritual) and all were in good spirits. I am sure each one of them had their own thoughts of what today meant to them, but as a group we all just chatted and ate a wonderfuly prepared dinner and enjoyed all the kids playin at Grandma's house.

Yep, knew it was comin' up.
Been to quite a few raceways since that awful night, and Ive thought of him at everyone of them.
I thought of something he said a few weeks ago at the track Im at now. At GHR, Id always say lights out going green before the race started so all officials knew we were going. Pretty common I guess.
One night we had trouble getting the track ready. So we were running a little late. First race of the night is rolling and I say "lights out going green" as usual.
not even 2 seconds later I hear Freds voice . All he said was "At 7:35!" It was all he had to say. We knew we were in the dog house for making the fans wait
We sure could use some one as stubbornly brilliant as him here in the Carolinas. the short tracks here are a mess
Hi Mike. BTW I used you as reference for a racing gig this week. Figured you wouldnt mind. You may hear something or you may not

Many thanks for the photos, Fletch. Much appreciated.
For those that may not be aware of it, the second photo past those of Fred's display is of the late Jack Conner's Black & Gold #32 Hemi sprint that was driven by Cheryl Glass at Skagit Speedway. The car was restored by John Nelson and Gary Berg of the Golden Wheels Fraternity.

Hey - I was looking to see when the memorial is... I see there is a 2-day race on the ASCS schedule and on the GHR site (Sept 18 and 19?) that I must assume is the Brownfield Memorial race? But I don't see it called such on either site. Or am I missing something?

I am sure Brian would agree .. I think he has made a great improvement this year over last already and I know he is still working on it.
