|Starks Excited for All Star Weekend at Jackson Motorplex, Knoxville Raceway and 34 Raceway
Inside Line Promotions - JACKSON, Minn. (July 23, 2019) - Trey Starks will tackle a tripleheader weekend with the Ollie's Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions beginning this Friday.
The Gobrecht Motorsports driver will compete on Friday at Jackson Motorplex.; on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa; and on Sunday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa.
"It will be a good three days of 410 racing," he said. "I want to be able to run in the top 10 each night. I think we have a chance to win, but it'd be nice to put a solid weekend together and build some momentum going into the Knoxville Nationals."
Starks made his 410ci winged sprint car debut at Jackson Motorplex last month. He recently recorded his career-best 410 run at Knoxville Raceway of seventh place multiple times. Sunday will mark his debut at 34 Raceway.
Starks raced at Jackson Motorplex last Friday during a Midwest Power Series and Midwest Sprint Touring Series event. He finished fourth in a heat race and 12th in the A Main.
"The track ended up pretty wet because they got some rain," he said. "We picked up a spot in the heat, but we didn't have good points so we started 16th in the main event. We battled the whole time in the feature. We got up to 12th in the first five laps. Then we bicycled pretty hard on a restart and dropped back to like 18th and then clawed our way back through.
"I'm not down about it. We're still fast there. I'm looking forward to the 410 this weekend. We have more laps on the track now and we had three days in a 410 last month to try to figure out what that place needed."
