SOUTH SOUND SPEEDWAY LIMITED LATE MODEL RULE CHANGE FOR 2009
South Sound Speedway
Rochester, WA
■John King
We at South Sound Speedway feel with the way that today’s economy is going; we want to be loyal to our Limited Late Model race teams.
For the 2009 season, we will continue to allow the compression engines to compete with the crate engines with a few rule changes that will apply to the compression engines.
COMPRESSION ENGINE:
#B Chevrolet, Ford, and Chrysler: Maximum 360 Cubic Inch. No Strokers allowed.
AMENDED: 8-17-2008. THIS GOES INTO EFFECT 1-1-2009.
#A, #C through #I all stay the same.
6. CRATE & COMPRESSION ENGINE IGNITION SYSTEMS:
#C COMPRESSION ENGINES: When you draw for qualifying each race, you will also draw your rev limiter chip for that race. All compression engines will use a 7000 RPM rev limiter chip. The Technical Officials will install and seal in place, the rev limiter chip you draw at qualifying, in the competitor’s ignition box. AMENDED: 8-17-2008. THIS GOES INTO EFFECT 1-1-2009.
#A, #B, #D through #N, and #P all stay the same. #O – 6-Pin Wiring diagram.
Compression Drivers, if you read through the ignition system rules, you will see that you are only allowed one MSD 6AL or 6ALN or GM PART # 1003-7378 ignition box with a 6-pin disconnect MSD PART # 8170 that must be installed to the right of the Driver for easy access for the Technical Officials to install the chip or exchange the ignition box. The 6-Pin wiring diagram is #O in the rule amendments under 6. Crate and Compression Engine Ignition Systems.
Race teams remember that all rule amendments are on the last few pages of the 2007/2008 South Sound Speedway Limited Late Model rules. You can see these rules at http://www.southsoundspeedway.com.
