Weather permitting, planning on hitting South Sound this weekend. Was wondering who all was planning on going, and if interested in meeting up.

Hey CurtK, what time will you be there?

Hey Netters,

Very tentative plans to go as of right now.  Think I need to get there and hang with my Ad-Fab-Ink sponsored cars, 3, 4, 44.

You going pit side or sitting in the stands?

I took the pic a few years ago at the resort on Lake Cushman....my family has had a cabin up there for close to 20 years now. It was one of those scenes I'm not sure I'd ever be able to find again.....the blue sky and the blue water with the clouds and the mountains in the background........I was amazed when I saw how it turned out.

Geez netters....as I sit here at home watching the birds hanging around the bird feeders I realized that Kelly has a reason for telling me I'm getting old...lol.

Cya Saturday.

We'd have to ask Butch that question Nobby.....but I'm pretty sure he would say it has to do with the total cost of running the duplicate show that he did last year. Personally I like sharing the night with the midgets.....I also think it's a great show and I wish more promoters would look at it.

I only remind you that you are getting old because it's fun..for me.. to remind you that you are getting old.

Were you hearing the birdies while sitting in a rocker or recliner?

Seems like we get a combo WMRA/NSRA show ever couple or three years.  It must not make enough money, because no promoter seems to be willing to do it 2 years in a row.

I know that the combo shows are my favorite.  Maybe just because I know so many of the guys in each of those clubs.

We should ask Butch.  South Sound is a great place for that show.  I know last year's was great.

Maybe if we corner him and threaten to deport his butt he'll listen TJ.....lol.

I would so love to see the WMRA there this weekend as well. Believe it or not the combo show last year @ S.S. was the first time I had seen the WMRA, and am now hooked (THANK YOU NOBBY ;)). Had seen the NSRA guys there before, and it was INCREDIBLE!!

PBQ, you think that show is awesome, you should see NSRA or WMRA at WVSO or Ephrata Raceway Park. Some of my fondest open wheel memories are Rory Price and Rick Moss duking it out on the little quarter miles, or Trevor Montgomery slinging the 17 car to a track record lap. Or Craig Deaver stalking him, or running wild through the pack to scramble back up front....The smaller the track, the bigger the action.

Dang, I wish.

Anncrman you are right about WVSO.  Now that I think about it, there were 2 or 3 years there that the season finale for both WMRA and NSRA was there in September.  What a great way to end the year.  Love that little track and the quality of racing it provides.

Careful there Curt.  Dont' think anyone really wants to pave over the Skagit Clay.  You are right though, no more armchair quaterbacks telling us all how they would make the show better by prepping the track their way.:dude:

Awe man, Kelly, would LOVE to see the WMRA @ WVSO. Was looking @ the schedule that Garrett put out, and been contemplating heading over the hill to catch them when they are there. Have seen the NSRA there, and it was unreal!!! Would love to see them both @ Ephrata (never been to Ephrata) as well!!! And, that's a name I haven't heard in a while, Trevor Montgomery, "The Tornado". :)

LOL, we're sitting at South Sound, and the WMRA feature starts with 'em 4 wide going into turn one, and I looked at Netters and said:

'You won't see that at Skagit OR Elma...'

Last years doubleheader was very, very special given what had just happened over the last couple of months, and it was freakin' packed.

I had heard that Evergreen approached WMRA about a show with NSRA there, but WMRA had some safety concerns

Last years race was awesome. Alberding hazing the right rear "dirt trackin' it" to set a new track record!! I was disappointed with the WMRA car counts. Its too bad. When we ran with them we typically had 20+ cars. I saw they only had 13 last outing or two ago. It would be nice to see them run dirt also but the main complaint was cost for switch over and or another car. SS is a great track. I agree with WVSO is a special also. I grew up at that track and watched Garrett's first race ever in a 68 Cougar. :D

Have always loved heading over to watch a race @ WVSO. First time was when I was really little. The diff between then & now is incredible. It is, imo, a BEAUTIFUL facility. I Love what Garrett & Leonard have done w/ it. Hmmm, a few dates to think about (WMRA);

July 14th or August 18th, WVSO

August 11th or September 15th, South Sound
September 1st, Ephrata.

Hmmmmm

I'm working until 2...then boltin' for South Sound. Can't wait to see the NSRA gang again...

BTW Netters....last June wasn't the first time you saw WMRA & NSRA together....the first was at Wenatchee in September of '01 when I went with you and Sean. Remember Trevor Montgomery crashing and losing the championship?
