Jettas injected from 1988 on. Mine is a 1990. Jr.'s Honda is a 1985. First year for fuel injection in Honda. I've seen early 80's jettas with the older style injection. Most Vw's from 70's on are injected. The ones that are not like your girlfriends have been altered with a carburator.
