So, I know most people don't care what I think but I'm still going to post it cuz someone will read it...
My thoughts are about the Modifieds and the Late Models being put together. I’m 95% sure that both our Modifieds are staying parked this year. THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT CLASSES, TWO DIFFERENT CARS WHY PUT THEM TOGETHER?
Rick I already know what your going to say “ Kayla, They are going to miss out a better purses. Instead of $50.00 they get $120.00” Or “They make twice the money which is all they ****** about last year”
Seriously why not just get rid of one of the classes. Get rid of the modifieds or the late models. The other one will benefit.

| leave it the way it was last year and get the attendance levels UP so we ALL can have big purses. That is the easy answer...

Kayla,
It is simple,...... the guys that want to race have an avenue to do so.
The ones that don't will park their cars. It is unfortunate but it is the way it is.
I could sit down with you and explain "in detail" why the merge is necessary if you like, and would be happy to do so with ANYONE if requested.
We have opened up the opportunity for a modified or a latemodel driver to have no less than 12 events to run thier cars, get a good return on the $$ spent and have a real shot at a Joe Gibbs test session.
2008 isn't 2007, we in Douglas County need to be the ones that dictate the future of our sport, not the ones that follow 2-4 years behind the times.
It will all make sence in the long run, sorry it hurts in the short go.
ADAM

| Well, Adam: I appreciate the opportunity to sit down with you and talk. But since I'm not the one racing (yet) I don't see the point. Plus with gas going to be almost $4.00 next week I cant afford to drive my truck down there. But, thanks again. And, I hope everything works out for you. Every thing will work out fine Kayla and we appreciate your concern!
Your blast at the gas prices is just another reason why the merge is crutial to the economics of the speedway program!

Don't promise anything you cant guarantee...
No offense I think it's kinda funny that not even an hour after I started this topic I got two PM...
One saying.... Kayla I am not sure why Adam is trying to bring our track down he ruined the street stocks and now he is doing his best to harm the modifieds I for one will leave my car parked I hope the mods can hold together to make the change.
The other saying... I do plan on doing some racing hopefully this summer, either Lebanon or coos bay, but Roseburg is definitely out of the question.
Hmm... Adam there's two cars that are sitting out so far. Looks like you might be losing money.

Just to throw my two cents in.... i have studied both modifieds and late models (because i am looking to buy one) and i believe that if a mod is running a good set of slicks they should be easily as fast as a late model on used slicks. modifieds have weight on their side as well if i read the rules correctly.. now i can see where bigger motors cost more money but i would not be suprised to see a mod win..A mod on slicks is going to be cool...
That is all i am going to say considering i dont race in the class. sorry if it made anyone mad i am just a modified fan.. and think they are faster than people think

Hey why not be really "economical" and put all the classes together mods, street stock, sprints, j-cars??? Sounds good.... Not!
All I'm trying to say is that if you put them together and keep do the things the way you are, your going to lose drivers. Not just that but fans also, cuz fans follow their favorite drivers. And I do believe that Adam was complaining last year that we didn't have much of crowd. Aint that right?

| Ok heres my two cents. Your right Modifieds could be as fast or faster than late models. Why should the modifeds have to spend more money for tires, spring, shocks and brakes just to be as fast or faster? We had a good field of cars so why change things. Adam has made it clear its all about money, still not sure how modifeds will come out ahead. Good luck to all who run at DCS

| I think his point there was why should he HAVE to spend more money yet again to race. Personally I agree. I would just go race a mod at The Grove. Thats where I will probably be spending my money this year, maybe even try to get them to race minis there too. I would love to be able to race there again. Come on Nick, lets go race out of town more this year, it really is alot of fun...

| its just that some of us don't like the way its going to be run. So whether its good or not, we will choose to either race here, somewhere else, or not at all. Been at this for 20 years now, and the way things are going here.... well it just don't look good at all. I see and know of more people that DONT like what's happening than do. It's Adams sandbox now and he can choose to do as he wishes no matter what is said here or by anyone. All I can say is good luck with that, piss off the racers and you piss off the fans. I've got a new travel trailer that just may get more use now, thats all I can say.

Nick it is no fun being charged more every year just to get in the back gate, and you got it worse, the tow from the coast at 4.00 dollars a gallon, 85.00 plus for asa membership and your new radio setup you might need a bank loan. But hey in the name of fun you might make it through the whole season without going broke. in every venture a guy needs to recover some of the cost to make the car pay for itself for the repairs that will need to be done and maybe bank some for the chance to move up to the next class. my 2 cents

no matter what you race its expensive. Hell it getting hard to get sponsors cause of slow business. Ya know the government has got us sooo screwed on everything from the credit breau to gas prices.
I could get a home loan a few years back but couldnt afford a decient home. Now that the prices are lower you cant get the financing. So no matter what we are all screwed. With gas at $4.00/gal this summer how the hell am I gonna tote my car to Roseburg 15 times a year? How are fans going to afford to watch a race? Its an ugly situation all around. But I believe if there is a will there is a way!

Hey Jim- Just curious where you bought your new travel trailer at? We could always use more sales especially from racers and gearheads!
Sorry to read that you wont be racing at Roseburg this year. I guess that gives some other guys a shot at winning more often. I'm sure they will miss your leadership however.

Hi all, I'm new at this as a car owner/driver. I'm 66 yrs old, havent raced since 1964, by the way it was not cost effective then either I know everyone has an opinion and I respect that. I believe Adam is trying his best to please both the racers and the fans and that is a tuff job. I would be foolish to be going into this thinking I am going to make money, racing is not an investment. Its like playing golf and thinking its going to pay, not. There's clubs, lessons, green fees, membership fees, accessories, etc. you have to play the game for your enjoyment. Racing is the same way, we get the enjoyment of driving the car, hopefully the fans enjoy it too. and also I'm a old traditions guy, I try to support my home town, home track, track promotor, none of these jobs are easy and it is just a labor of love. Everyone surly has the choice to race where they wish and good luck to everyone. No one has to bad mouth one track to go race at another, just do it. I know this from life's experience's that there is no way to please everybody (just ask the President of the United States ) Bless our Military that gives us the freedom to have these choice's. I wish everyone a great, safe, racing season where ever you are.
Thanks

| I have to concure also, you guys and gals are forgeting what racing is about. Fun, and having a good time. Yeah sure it costs money but what doesnt these days. So, there are changes to the classes, and people arent to happy about it. But lifes not perfect and fair all the time. But people have to make changes sometimes for what they think is the best way, and some toes have to be stepped on in the process. But you have to look at the situation from other view points, like adams and and the fans. And not just your own. So remember some people at the track have started racing for the fun of it and to have a good time. Not to make a big drama scene of things. And thats what people come to see, not a class that takes forever. Thats my two cents.

I've got to check but they dont come cheap... so your going to have to keep him away from jimmy3 and i have a potion against voodoo magic for snails, and that will hopefully keep him safe from melting and other stuff like that... tell sponge bob that it will be oka but to be carefully with gary the third, the snail farm didnt have a evry good year.

I told you guys, there was a cloud forming over the lab. Heres what I was faced with when I showed up for work today. Its jimmy3's new superstock truck parked right in front of the main door. And its full of hot rod parts in boxes, the sign didnt really make sense until I went inside the shop..... Attachment: 010.jpg (Downloaded 169 times)

Heres what I found on my work bench. A hammer though the manafold, thats not a big deal cause its jblock15's. However, the punch through the oil pan, is going to put a limp in your step, thats the oil pan for the new motor of 77 Amos Roads, and I am sure he will get you for that. Now, what really put you over the top with me is that you DRANK MY LAST BEER! As for the SPONG Bob, you can throw him under a moving truck for all I care, I never like the little dweeb any way. So, if you want your truck worked on here, you might start with a lot of cold beer and a bucket of cash.
