I am waiting for a call back or email from my sources for confirmation. All I have is two phone calls, but no confirmation from anyone official. I am efforting to get to the bottom of this.

At this point it is all RUMOR, but it would explain the lack of movement after two missed "Big Scoop" deadlines have been missed regarding fruitful information.

Let me say again RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR, no verification yet.

I find all this very interesting and a bit frustrating..I, along with probably alot of other folks are wondering whats going on with this organization..The thing that I keep trying to tell myself is that it has only been 2 months since official notice of the club..Alot of things need to be done from ground zero as in signing drivers, making deals with racetracks, going after corp sponsorship for the series, doing a tv deal etc,etc..The list goes on and on..I just keep thinking about the e-mail they sent this site about being patient..There is alot to do,everything in fact..I have read the post on BigWest and everything that is being said here and there..Its also interesting that the NSL has 2 display booths booked for the Performance Racing Show right across the aisle from the Richard Petty Driving Experience..That show is one of racings biggest and starts this thurday..I would say if something is going to come out it would have to happen before or on that date..Until then, I ain't believing nothin till I hear it from Kinser....sign me waiting..Rickt:cool:

Remember what it said in the e-mail fron the NSL to NWRacetalk.com...."Hope to have an announcement by the first of December", which by the way coincides with the PRI SHOW where they have a booth..Hmmmmmmmmmmm;)

I cannot believe they would fold at all. I think it is just rumor. I sent an email to them and ask the question, no return yet.

Interesting news (and considering the sources, definitely interesting, saw this on hoseheads.com, in case):

National Sprintcar League moving forward despite loss of Petty involvement - By Bobby Gerould - Rocklin, CA. 11/27/05 National Sprintcar League officials learned Tuesday (November 22nd) that the Richard Petty Driving Experience, and Richard and Kyle Petty would no longer be a part of the NSL. Citing overwhelming demands in getting a start-up series off the ground, the Petty's informed the NSL of their decision. Despite the loss, the National Sprintcar League is moving forward with plans to race 410 winged sprintcars in 2006. "Sure, we regret that the Richard Petty Driving Experience has decided to withdraw from the new series. They're good race people and we'll miss them, but that is the only thing that has changed", said Steve Kinser. The 20-time World Champion driver continued, "We look forward to forming the kind of relationships between tracks, race teams, drivers, sponsors, and most importantly the fans to carry 410 winged sprint car racing into the next decade." The National Sprintcar League is in constant communication with major track promoters in a continued effort to finalize a 2006 racing schedule. "We are acutely aware that the fans want answers now", said Brian Healey, NSL official. "The reality is that starting a major touring series takes a cooperative effort of many sprintcar racing's major players, and sometimes that takes longer than we all want it to take." The National Sprintcar League is working on not only the 2006 racing schedule but also the details of a new website, and naming of a series sponsor. A television package is also part of the NSL master plan. Said Healey, "Many pieces are in place to succeed. We just need the full support of a few key race promoters to take our next step." The National Sprintcar League will participate in the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) trade show in Orlando, Florida this week. Teams and drivers committed to the NSL in 2006 include Steve Kinser Racing (Steve Kinser), Tony Stewart Racing (Paul McMahan), Kasey Kahne Racing (Joey Saldana), Elite Racing Team (Jason Meyers), Roth MotorSports (Danny Lasoski), TW Racing (Brandon Wimmer), Rudeen Racing (Shane Stewart), Selma Shell Racing (Lucas Wolfe), P&P MotorSports (Brian Paulus), Sides MotorSports (Jason Sides), Parsons MotorSports (Tim Shaffer), and Carnahan MotorSports (Jason Solwold).

Looks like the beginning of a rumor killer to me..Although it would have been nice to have Richard Petty on board, what the heck does he know about sprintcars? If they want a NASCAR connection, they already have it with NASCAR 2005 NEXTEL CUP CHAMPION TONY STEWART..Now that guys knows sprintcars and is one of the biggest name racers in this country right now..That is a draw in itself...Oh well, lots of exercise got by many this week jumping to conclusions..lmao.....Rickt:cool:

Rumor killer or good spin? It will be interesting to hear what comes from the PRI meeting. My sources say different from what the press story says, but then again I have been wrong before. Different in that some teams, drivers and promoters have been told differently than what was portrayed in that release.

But time will tell, sure makes for interesting offseason reading.

Loosing Petty is not a good thing for the NSL. His name has a big draw for sponsors, fans etc. The Petty name has the resources needed to make a series like NSL go. Remember the rumor that the petty NASCAR was going to carry the NSL Logo as the sponsor. Advertisment like that even if its a middle to back of the pack NASCAR is hard to find, especically at that price.

This is very interesting....I find the reason the Petty's gave for backing out very curious...overwhelming demands of starting up a new series...this is a family that has made their living in auto racing for 4 generations....doesn't make sense.

It'll be very surprising (at least to me) if the NSL disolves...Tony Stewart, Steve Kinser, Joey Saldana, Dennis Roth, Kasey Kahne, these are all smart people with alot of smart business people behind them. It would be astounding if they all got dupped in this deal.

That's my opinion anyway.....

K this is my OPINION and SOLEY MY OPINION, but here is what I think.

Pettys have become quit the busines people, for those of you that are not aware of all the things they have going on. THey make millions off the NAME. A great name don't get me wrong.
Im not one to put down any racer, but the dollars are made on sponsorship in NASCAR when you talk about Kyle, certainley not the winnings.
With that being said, every person you named kinser khane etc. are "RACERS" they have racer mantality. They talk RACER LINGO. They want whats best for the racer, and why I think they left the WOO.
With that being said I think the Pettys wanted busines, and the kinsers, khanes etc wanted whats best for racers.
Kindof like the old fashion tug and pull racer vs promoter you have in just about every track in the world.

Racers ALWAYS PREVAIL, but sometimes its not that golden track or series we all dream of. Anyways thats my opinion bad spelling and all.

Hopefully we will have some answers in next day or two..We have 3 contacts flying out this morning to the PRI show..Their cell phones will be busy to say the least..And, I don't know if anyone has heard this twist but some are saying Petty might have got some pressure from Mr. France over this whole deal..Kinda makes a little sense since Nascar has been working with USAC for companion shows with a speedway sprintcar..Hmmm,conflict of interest maybe? This only gets better huh? Gezzz, someone tell me the real deal PLEASE! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Good points RaceFlyer and I agree.

I'm sure there are some very interesting things going on behind the scenes that the fans will never know about. I have nothing but respect for the Petty family and what they have done and accomplished in racing. They are very savy businessmen and that's why I just don't believe that they didn't know what the demands of starting a new series would be. Like I said, would be very interesting to know the "whole" story.

One things for sure...the bench racing season this year is much more interesting!

Well...Got a couple phone calls last night and nothing concrete..Just lots of rumors running around..One thing I did learn was that the spaces supposedly occupied by the NSL are lifeless..Hmm,not good...Also lots of talk of drivers and teams jumping ship..Roths name has been brought up many times..I must stress here that this is all hear say so take it with a grain of salt..Nobody around would like to see this come off more than me but I am not liking what I'm hearin..more later.

Interesting statement from Kyle Petty on http://www.nationalsprintcarleague.com/.  Kind of looks and sounds like NSL as a whole is done.

well I don't think the site will be around as it is owned by the Petty's.  Let's hope something happens and the organization is still around.
