Paul Menard is leaving DEI and will be driving for Yates in 09. He is also taking sponsorship with him. This leaves poor Tereasa with only one funded car for 09. Bass Pro shops with Truex is it and he only has a one year deal... Shoulda made a deal T.E.

Maybe T.E. needs to turn her operation over to
someone who can build confidence in the crews
and secure some sponsorship. It sounds like a
death knell right now......

Michael Waltrip is putting Kenny Wallace in the
no. 00 car for Talladega. Interesting choice.
Michael says Kenny has a lot of restrictor plate
experience and a lot of friends that trust him.
(I guess that means they are not worried about
Kenny wrecking 'em.)
Previous driver of the 00, Michael McDowell, best
finish was 20th at Richmond, which was better than
Mike Skinner's three race stint in the same car.

| She is really running that place into the ground. I have NEVER liked her! Sad to see her ruin something Dale Sr. worked so hard for!

I knew when Junior left that Theresa would be sitting in a museum not an active race shop.
I'm not really suprised at all. After next year, she'll probably close it down. Who knows!

Rick: We might be reading about other teams that
decide to merge or ? These are tough economic times
and all sports are going to be effected, either by
smaller fan base participation or limited sponsorship
funds.
D.W. wrote a good article for FOXSPORTS.com titled
"Big challenge ahead for Cup car owners". He talks
about several avenues of problem solving for the
crunch that NASCAR teams are feeling. I like his ideas
for saving money without changing the sport of racing.
Just one little problem--NASCAR officials have to go
along with it. They act like these team owners have
carte blanche with their accountants blessings.
D.W. is talking about eliminating the ice cream on the
pie a la mode. (that's a woman's viewpoint--lol)
Am not anxious for the 2009 racing season--seems the
money needed always turns up for the guys that
really WANT it......
Rick--it's always good, huh!
