That kid is gonna be a force to be reckoned with.  Wins the championship in his very first year of the Camping World East series and turns around and wins his very first ARCA/Remax series race.  I think we're gonna have another record setter as soon as he's old enough to run in NASCAR's top series.

Yes.

It was a VERY interesting show I saw on TV a few years ago on the topic of "what makes a good driver?"

A medical university answered the question, using fourteen year old Joey as their young guinea pig.  I forget who the old grizzled veteran champ was that they compared him to.  Wasn't me, though, ha-ha.

Anyway in looking at brain scans they concluded that the kid, and other successful drivers of various ages tested all had a more developed area of the brain that was responsible for a certain  type of logical thinking.  They were astounded to see it in Joey at 14 years of age.

The show concluded by predicting a great future in the sport for him.

I caught the next flight to the university for a scan of my brain.  Drats, they couldn't find one.

LOL.   Other than the part about you, is the rest of that true?

If so....that is pretty interesting.

This weekend is his much anticipated debut in the Nationwide Series.  Let's see if he's worth all the hype.  I know he has a pretty impressive record.

Yes.  I think it was on the Discovery Channel, it was a few years ago.

I would like to have seen him have his debut at any other track than Dover. That is one tough track to drive. But on the up side, if he does good it will show just how good the hype behind him is. I have watched him raced several times with ARCA and he is very good. I think he will be in the top 15 on Saturday. Of course, there are lots of wrecks at Dover and he needs to stay clear of them, oh and not be the cause of one.

This kid has a tall order to fill, in my opinion.  The media has over hyped him.  Will it work on his young mind?   Some hype is OK but in Joey's case it is being over done, way over done.

However,  this Saturday's Nationwide race should prove to be interesting and I do wish Joey the best.

I think alot of NASCAR's reason for the "over hype" is to promote the fact he worked his way through the newly revamped Camping Series that they are trying to promote as well.
