Since everyone seems to be into cool pics and videos ... check out this new Ship from Royal Caribbean.   It will carry just over 5 THOUSAND Passengers.

I wish they had all inclusive cruises ... food is included but you gotta buy your drinks.  I think there afraid of folks getting out of control.   Be kinda like once you pay to get through the gate at the track all the beer is included ..... hey I like that idea  :)

I don't drink(well i drink alot of pineapple juice and that can add up) Sounds cool. How much do those big boats move? I get a little sea sick. Any observations?

you might get sick from so much pineapple juice  :)   Very little movement... a ferry is a roller coaster compared to a cruise ship.

That looks sweet.  I'm going on the Sovereign of the Seas in July.  Old = cheaper. :)

I was on the Sovereign when it was new.  Still one of my favorites.

Consider this cruise knowledge , not drinking knowledge ..... they sell more booze on a 7 night Alaska cruise than they sell on a 7 night Caribbean cruise.

kinda makes you go hmmmm don't it.  :)

I love cruises!!!! You can drink and get stupid........ no driving required. I usually sit at a table full of old people for meals. I LOVE sitting with the old people... 'cause.... they end up adopting me like one of their long lost kids or grandkids... making sure I'm drinking enough water and using plenty of sun screen... :P

Anyway, I've been on the Alaskan, Carribean (Bahama, St. Thomas, St. Maartin), and Panama cruise. Panama was by far the best!

You can hardly feel the boat moving when you are on it. The newer ones are literally like a floating city. The only time I got sick is when I ate raw conch in a "fear factor" type game in the Bahamas. :? If someone offers you raw conch........ DECLINE!!! But swim with the stingrays and dolphins........ total highlight of the trip......

Kind of depends on if:

They want their vacation to be an Alaska experience

or

They want to experience Alaska on their vacation.

I sell both regularily and a family would be bored stiff on the small ships as would some younger couples, however if you really want to get away be part of the experience its the only way to go.  If you however want to sail to Alaska on a floating vegas then get on a big ol ship and enjoy it.

That is a cool ship... there is a lounge on the back that you look almost 200' staight down to the water.

I took a 6 month cruise back in 1960. Hawaii, Philippines, Guam, Japan, Hong Kong, Midway, Okinawa. Great ship. 1093 feet long, 60,0000 tons. A city afloat. Hell, we even had our own airport and I got to get a flight almost every day. Best part of the cruise? They even paid me. Ah yes, memories of the USS Ranger.

I'm sure I'll find that lounge.  I plan on spending lots of time there, not to mention money.:)

You would have really enjoyed our ride through Hurricane David on the USS Nicholson (Spruance Class Destroyer).

Racemom,

Not speaking for Greg, but remember those that support the sport that you love so much when booking your cruise :-)

Thanks, but NO Thanks!. I always thought tin can riders should have had part time submariner's pay. Getting wet with solid H2O over the carrier's flight deck was as rough a sea as I cared to get involved with.
