SO I need to get a hold of some rulebooks from the old modified days, and jalopies. Any body out there that can help me out? Ive got interest from alot of people that want to put cars together, and a few racetracks that want this to take off and offered to run a show, this will work with a bit of help from all of you out there! Thanks Tom

This thread kinda died but Tom has recieved some inquiries that tell me there really is some interest out there for this. If anybody has access to some rulebooks PLEASE contact him so that he can get the ball rolling. As I said earlier here.....I believe this will work but it has to have a cattle prod behind it. For the most part racers are followers and need to have someone point them in the right direction. They want to go to the racetrack and do what they do best....race. I will help Tom where I can but he needs a starting point and some rulebooks to guide him will help a bunch.
Come on guys!!!!!!.....lol......

Just an fyi Tom.....Gaylen has an old Ross Fontes car built in 1968 and he's just looking for a reason to put it back together and go play. The interest is there. I also talked to Bert Johnson......I think PA would be very interested as a track if this thing takes off.
Just an opinion.........K.I.S.S.
Yep.. I have eyeballed that car at Gordy's house. Just sitting there all complete under the shed cover... Will speak to him this weekend about it at the FBM.

Tom should talk to both the Old Time Racing Assoc. out of Victoria and the Vintage group that ran at Spanaway and now I think travel. I remember how exciting it was to watch the Jalopies at Sky Valley, but I also remember how the modifieds struggled and died at Evergreen with Sky Valley on the asphalt, the struggles Skagit had trying to get the low cost original Sportsman class going in the 80's, and even the new midget class at Elma, even though sharp looking and a crowd pleaser, are low on car count. Take the pro, the con and especially the advice of those that have been around traveling series, surround yourself with positive thinkers and you'll have a success! Didn't Ted Johnson and Fred Brownfield take dreams to success??
