That's right, it's Rollie. Buffalo had the car a couple of years ago and as far as I know it's  still at his place along with some other oldies.

Not a bad guess considering that it was 30 years ago huh George....lol. '78 was my first year as a head flagman with Sky Valley and Jim Dennis was the other guy in the stand with me. Seems like just yesterday......lololol.

The Coos Bay shot above was from the Pollard Memorial. We would run the Nickel Cup at Roseburg on Saturday night and then head to Coos Bay for the Pollard on Sunday afternoon. Made for a fun weekend.

Thanks for rekindling all the memories by this great thread. I plan to add to it in the future as time allows and if my new slide converter works so that I can show some of the hundreds of slides I took as a kid.

In another thread Michigan's Bob Seelman was discussed. I came across a slide of his car that I took at Langley. Here is my first try at converting a slide to the computer. Hope it works

Join in when ya can #11......I would love to see some of the things you have after all of the family history you guys have. Can't wait.

The first program I picked up tonight is from Langley Speedway and according to what I find inside.....it appears to be 1970. The exact date of the qualifying times recorded I'm just not sure of. I can tell you that for this particular event there are 59 cars that she wrote down times for. Because of the names she wrote in I can only assume that it was possibly an IDC event or something of that magnitude. Here are some of the photos I took out of the program....

I thought this was fun to read......the advent of r/e cars to short tracks was feared even in 1970!!!

Admittedly since I grew up around Sky Valley this 1975 yearbook brings back memories that those that didn't wouldn't have that same feeling I do when I looked at it. I feel that if I leave out a single page of this book, it isn't doing it justice. The first pages are a look back into the beginning....I hope the reading is enjoyed by some.....

That's it for now. There are another 45 pages of this book to scan and post....hopefully I can get to it next week. Did anybody catch the smile on Randy Bauer's face sitting behind the wheel of dads car??? How about the pic of Allen Goetz as a crew guy for Mike Evans??

Until next week....enjoy. And I hope to see some photos from folks other than myself soon.
