I'm trying to figure out attaching the photos...  Here's one from Spanaway, might be early '70s.  I'm not sure who any of these guys are, this was after a front stretch pile up.

Here are a couple of pictures from Spanaway, April 1976. I had to look on the back of the picture to see who it was. Do you or anyone else know who it is?

I see Darrell Lopeman's car in the background, the black one with yellow flames.  I think the #18 was Art Boulliane? (not sure of the spelling)

I found another picture taken the same day as the one I posted earlier.  It was marked June '71.  That's the date the flim was developed, so it was probably taken not too long before that.  I think that was the same day Rebel Jackson's car caught on fire and burned pretty good.  Maybe it was one of those races that were sponsored by the old White Front store?  It's a little vague, I was only 8 years old.

You were right-good memory, it was spelled Boulainne on the back of my picture but I'm not sure either. I found another picture of a car on fire,  it said Rebel Jackson on the back! This one was taken in the late 60's.

I believe the King Crab sprinter was owned by the late great Jack Conner. Jack also put Cheryl Glass in that car for a season or so. Jack was a good driver as well. He won a few championships at the old Aurora Stadium Speedway. One race result I've come across for the 1952 season ending 100-lapper at Aurora, which Jack won, also included Ed Sneva, from Spokane, and Cliff Spalding. Cliff drove Jack's modified in the late 1950s, early 60s.

I met Jack a few times at the Golden Wheels breakfasts. He had many stories to tell and there were lots of laughs.

I think the 32 was owned by Jack Conners... the King Crab cars are owned by Rudy Peterson.

The King Crab cars may have been owned by Jack early on....I'm not 100% sure. But since the 70's and on they have been owned by Rudy Peterson of Seattle. Rudy was/is a crab boat owner and was very active in the fishing industry. Again I'm not 100% sure but I've been told that he still has a handful of those cars sitting in a warehouse somewhere......which would include a Peete Bros T, a sprint car and the sprint car tailed supermodified that I believe Wally Peete built and was driven by some pretty good shoes......Tom Naylor, Randy Bauer, Mike Swanson, etc.

The little red T that sits in there will make you drool. Gary Bettenhauser was the last to drive it at Phoenix, I believe. I think it was the last T to win the Western at Manzy. He also has the other Wallt Peets T that Ross drove around here. The little red one is distinctive as the rear roll loop is a full circle instead of up-over-and down. Oh yeah, Rudy's pieces should be on display somewhere so everyone could enjoy them.

Thanks for the link Curt. Makes sense that it is a midget as it came from a collection of photos from the late Gordon Reelie, legendary midget owner from Canada.

Just to get back to supers, here's Alvin Haggith, from Nanaimo, BC, at Langley Speedway, around 1969. Comes from the Langley Speedway Historical Society collection.

Just talked to a friend down under and he said the black #99 in the photos on the Don Edmunds web site, owned by George Tatnell, was making laps on track at Parramatta City Raceway near Sydney last weekend.

After seeing flaggerinthree's picture of Art Boulainne's #18, I must have been just to the right taking pictures at the same time.  See the #18 in the background of my picture.

If the car was built 30 or more years ago, take the wing off, make it period correct and go with Golden Wheels or West Coast Vintage Racers.

I'm don't know, I only recall seeing this car the one time.  I remember the name as Ed Patterson, which I easily could have heard wrong over the p.a.

I remember Jay Barnes running a similar car with W.O.W in the late 90's. He would haze the right rear dirt track style up top in the turns. He ran at Wenatchee and I dont think he ever got out of the 2nd groove.

You're right, that was Vaun Peterson driving that car.  One of my old stock car favorites from Spanaway in the '70s.  I like the old school bubble face shield.
