Rick,
Thanks for posting your photos, but if you're gonna ask us to guess who they are, then you need to rename the photo before posting it..... (I know cause I've done this too!!!).
With that said, the first one is Ernie Irvan at San Jose Speedway (although I would have guessed that was Stockton 99 Speedway where he normally raced).
The second one is Don Waterman and the third one is Jim Bown.

Speedy,
I would not have guessed Larry Bell. Thanks for posting the photo. As for the Garrett Evans Camaro, it could very well be pre 1994, I was guessing on that one.

Rickt,
Here's Ivan Baldwin at the original Irwindale racetrack, Speedway 605. Could that be Gary Nelson leaning over the car to the right of Ivan?
Anyone have any idea who's in the background? Looks like a 67 Chevelle convertible with the number 95 and a 67 or 68 Camaro with the number 76.

Rickt,
Ok now that I've looked at the photo a little closer, I'm thinking it looks like a young Jim Thirkettle?

sport,
No, it's not Dan Gurney, but a good guess.
This driver was a SoCal local that stayed pretty near home for his racing most of the time. Think Orange Show Speedway in San Bernardino...

I have been doing some research on 605 and trying to come up with an answer..Don't know just yet. OBTW...#16 car.......hmmm, at first I wanted to say Esua but I don't think he is old enough..another hint?

| I would like to see a picture of the Ross Racing Nova. That was a cool car, green and white, looked fast just sitting still. The time I saw it, I think Steve Helmholz was driving it.

| Gene Riniker...Odie Robertson....George and Larry Easu....some of the names I remember from orange show and speedway 605..and some other venues in cali...Remember a guy from ore showing up at spokane with an old parnelli jones ford and kicking but till a tire went flat..think he was mainly a dirt guy from southern ore..Harold Hardisty.... and then I remember a nice guy out of Bidel Veil,Ore...Bud Hickey...ahhh the great cars and drivers...no cookie cutter stuff in those days. HPD......The first time I seen Garrett Evans race was at Portland in a NW tour race in 93 or 94 and he was the only Ford I seen.....sooooooo......thats who I rooted for. I'm kind of stuck on the blue ovals. I know I set myself up with that last comment......lol.

Sprint 3, Rickt and Sport,
It's not Riniker, Odie or the Esau's. Again thanks for guessing.
Some hints on the 16 car above.... He's part of a very large racing family (both on dirt and asphalt) from the San Bernardino area. There are multiple members of that family still racing in SoCal today (Orange Show, Irwindale, Perris, Lake Havasu) etc.
And Sprint3, one of my favorite driver's growing up in Southern Oregon was Harold Hardesty. I was fortunate to be able to watch him and several other stock car racing stars race weekly at the old Medford Raceway. He was a tough competitor everywhere he showed up.

Since this is a NorthWest racing forum, let's put up a photo of a Northwest Stock car racing star to keep this going....
Here's Chuck Bown getting ready to race at Oxford Plains, Maine in the mid eighties when he was racing the Busch North series.

| Rick.....The yellow and red car #16 I think at the top of this page.....just a stab at this......I want to say Gene Marquardt. But I dont know if anybody from his clan is still racing except grandkids, and I know they arent in Cali. Thats why its just a stab.

Thats what it appears to me. Cyclone/Torino. One of my teachers in HS had one of those bad boys with the 429 Cobra Jet in it. One beautiful ride

I love the fast back look with the square front end. Sweet car.
