I'll take some stabs at naming a few of those drivers.
36 Garnett Zimmerman
22 Roy Haslam
7 Ron Eaton (sweet picture of him in the Nova!)
90 Bob Fox
25w Dirk Stephens
2 Bob Fox
82 Ray Jones
92 Ken Longley
64 Garrett Evans
4 Chuck Flora
7 Ralph Lewis?
86 Tom Berrow?
I'm not sure of some of them, and a few I didn't recognize, the 21 and 75.

| There's one of the #46 cars in the background. Who sold me that piece of crap, do you remember Sport? Actually it handled pretty good, just didn't have much for an engine. I think that car was originally Randy Brown's, then Ron Willis'. It had a pull chain, like you'd see on a light fixture for a kill switch. Then it was changed to a regular wall mounted type of light switch. What was that dude's name that was working on that for you, I think it was Jeff? I remember later that Ray Bader repo'd the carburetor, so I threw on some Holley I had laying around. Ben Jones was trying to adjust it for me at the track, but it leaked like a sieve. Damn thing caught on fire, burnt all the hair off his arms. Those were the good ol' days. Attachment: img047.jpg (Downloaded 393 times) Last edited on Tuesday Dec 25th, 2007 05:01 AM by Bob46

Bankerbill27, RickT and Blasticus,
Yes, that blue 16 is a Ford Torino, although it's not the Cyclone model. Probably an older Winston Cup car that was purchased by the team and used for Winston West racing.
The driver is Chuck Becker from San Bernardino. A very cool race car and a good driver. That whole family races (both dirt and asphalt) and they are all talented.

richardhead_33,
Great shots from Langley. Thanks for sharing them!
The black 21 might be one of the three team cars of Loran Kelley, Billy Clarkson and Ed Gibber from around that time frame. They each had similar black camaro's with numbers 19, 20 and 21 on them. I can't remember which was in which though.
Anyone from Northern California remember them?
Who's in the red 75? Also, the Dirk Stephens blue 25w is strange looking. I notice a Dodge logo on the quarter panel, anyone know more about that car?

Head88,
Also, great shots from you and thanks for sharing them.
I'm curious who's driving the blue 2 and red 11 (is that Roy Smith?) just in front of Garrett Evans and who's in the 83 in front of Ken Longley a few shots further down.
I can help with the dirt late model's at Skagit. The blue 6 is Long Beach, California driver Steve Vaughan in the Professional Racers Emporium (PRE) house race car from 1983. The white 77 is Medford, Oregon driver Reg Ayers also from 1983.

| Here's one of my photos from Shasta in 1979. The 02 is Redding's Mike Chase and the 11, well that's Victoria's Roy Smith. Attachment: mike chase and roy smith 1979.jpg (Downloaded 285 times)

Here's a shot of Rick Becker (not Steve Vaughan) and Medford, Oregon's Dane Smith at the Skagit Dirt Cup show in 1984. Dane won this race.
I get the 6 car confused a lot as both Steve Vaughan and Rick Becker drove this car at one time or another.

The black 21 is indeed Billy Clarkson.
I have a photo of Hurlbert in the Bud Light car I'll post tomorrow.

The 83 is "Black Jack" Cross, who raced for years at Langley, and the yellow 70 is Joe Ruttman. Larry Phillips was there that day as well. The red 75 is Roy Blumenhagen, who still races sprint cars at Skagit. I don't know about the 2 or 11, but I don't think the pink 11 is Roy Smith.
The pictures you have of Harding and Evans are 88 or 89. By 1992 everyone had Luminas. NASCAR was done with the Firebirds and Camaros.
