Cool pictures from Langley, especially the Larry Phillips and Joe Ruttman shots!  I remeber seeing those guys at Spanaway, Phillips spanked 'em bad.  Is that Hershel McGriff Jr in the 24, and Herman Sheurman(not sure of the spelling) in the 26?  I think the 1 is Ray Potter.

I think they ran the local shows at Victoria at the time, but does anybody have any shots of Larry Pollard and Al Vanderbyl's old Novas?  They came down to Spanaway in the early '80s for a race of champions along with the top guys from all over the state(Wa).  That was a cool race, I think Butch Mentry won it.

Sport, Those were good times, I still have the helmet too.  The funniest thing I remember was you paying the entry fee at the last minute to enter a figure 8 race, getting on the track after the main event already started, running one lap to dump Vern Huson who was leading and had the race won, to pay him back for dumping you in the hobby stock main.  I remember Dick Boness just reaming you in the pits after the race, telling you that you weren't God.  Now that was funny!

I don't remember that 24 being Hershel Jr, but it might be. I also think the 1 is Ray Potter and the 26 is certainly Herman Scheuerman.

I wish I had a picture of Lovelace's car when he had the Mirada body on it, I thought that was cool.

I think this guy's name was Greg Court, a Canadian.  You can see Tom Denny's #1 in the background, and Ken Tucker running in front of the #53 in the white coveralls.  Two guys who are no longer with us.

Here's another one of those head shots, I think these are pretty cool.  You don't see the open face helmets much anymore.

Terry Boyle at Spanaway, I think.  If I remember right, this car was also driven by Bob Eastwood.  I think that was his name.

Here's another Spanaway shot.  The #05 is Sam Darnell.  I think J.J. Zaffino built this car, and he ran it with the #1 on it.  I wish I had a picture of it then, that was a cool looking car.  It was different, an AMC Hornet.

Ok Bob46...now you got my attention.. I think it was you that asked for a picture of my old green/white ROSS RACING Nova.. I am still lookin for one after moving but one thing that most folks do not know is that the Nova was this old Chevelle. I bought this old Max Dudley car from Leon and reskinned it with the Nova body. This was one of best cars I have ever seen built. The craftsmanship on it was second to none.

I didn't know that RickT, do you know whatever happened to that car?  And do you know if Leon still has that show car he had?  Wasn't it Shol's Collision, the old Mike Barrett Omega?
