I saw it at the Oly 150 at Tenino in the spring of '77. I seem to recal it was #100, and was driven by Tom Denny or Don Dowdy. I think it was based in Olympia, WA., where I went to high school, and I heard that it had been built over the previous winter. Solid white except for the numbers, IIRC

The other threads have quite a few pictures that I recognize as having been in the field. I didn't get to see any other stock car races until a few years later when my folks moved to Spanaway, so I'm not as familiar with NW drivers that weren't active in '81 or '82 and later.

Can anyone help fill the vast voids in my memory, LOL? Thanks!

I do know that Dowdy had a Scamp and sold it to Garrett Evans. Neal Newberry had a Volare.

Must be Dowdy's car that I remember. Do you recall it being white?

Always been a pipe dream of mine to stumble across one that was purchased but never built, though I don't consider it very likely, LOL.

Excellent pics, Rick. Thanks!

My favorite is the shop pic of the Petty Dart. Something appealing about the way the squareness of the car's lines contrasts with the stance and the wide rubber of the race set-up. Same goes with the '68 thru '74 Novas.

my old man ran one of those in the 70's. He drove one of two from Langley Speedway that I believe were built at the same time in the same shop. I actually have all the plans supplied by Petty. All if not most of them anyway. His was a 74 Scamp, dart style. The other was a 71 style.
