Would be sweet if someone connected with the WoD could place an announcement/details of the 9/13/08  $10,000 purse Fast Track Late Model race on this forum.

Should be a very exciting race and will decide who the 2nd car is to go to Nationals!  FYI.........Jason Wines, Lebanon, Oregon #41 is already locked in to go to Nationals in Oct.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't $10,000 for a LM race like the biggest in Oregon........ever?

IRELAND COSTELLO PC is the title sponsor for the this Regional Championship Race. This race will also count as the first of three points races for Grand Nationals. Cars that have competed in 15 FASTRAK events qualify for these National Points. This will be a single points regular season event. Stan Lester himself will be on the radios, the show will follow the format of Grand Nationals.

TIRE RULE- GOOD YEAR ONLY SHOW
-To be eligible for the $5,000 to win and Grand National points, you must be on either uncut unsiped G45 or G50 Goodyears or X400s (Cutting and Siping allowed on X400s)
-You may run cut or siped G45 or G50s, but you won't be eligible for the $5,000, or be eligible for the Grand National points.

After receiving volumes of input, and careful consideration, the time to announce the format of the final race has come.

FINAL RACE FORMAT 18 CAR FIELD!!!!!
-FIRST FOUR ROWS-Top Eight Points Leaders of the Series will make up the first four rows of the A-Main Event, points leader on pole and on down the line.
---Top Eight will hot lap, but won't heat race in, their starting position has been earned this year.
-ROWS FIVE THROUGH EIGHT- Rows FIVE through EIGHT will be pulled out of the heat races. (Must have completed 5 FASTRAK Finishes to enter heats)
---Heat races will be ordered by FASTRAK Series Points Standing.
---10 lap heats, normal passing points system awarded with finish points
---Top Eight in passing/finishing points will be rank and filed from fifth row inside to eighth row outside.
-LAST ROW- a last chance 30 lap main event- top two make up the last two positions. Third place will be the alternate. (You do not need to have finished 5 FASTRAK finishes in order to enter the B-Main)
---Order of B-Main will be based first on passing points for Non_Qualifiers, and then finished off with pill draw for those cars who have not finished five FASTRAK finishes.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL

Thx Andrew! Since you've done such a nice job with the above post, could you maybe post something on here that tells the folks what the fast trak series is and is about?   Lots of folks have no idea as how well this series is doing in the PNW.

Welcome to the home of the Warriors of Dirt Racing series. We are the Pacific Region of the Fastrak Dirt Late Model Series covering Oregon, Washington and California.

Our hope is to provide you a Touring Series that pays a good purse, fair rules, a family atmosphere and a great points fund while at the same time controlling the costs. It is not our intent to take the "ingenuity" out of the sport. It is our goal to put the success of your team back in the hands of the crew and driver and not "whoever has the money" be the determining factor of the winner.
    Pacific Region goals:

  • Entertain fans with clean, exciting and enjoyable racing.
  • Provide fair and impartial competititon for professional drivers, car owners, and fans.
  • Maintain positive public relations with series supporters.

Thank you very much, Andrew!

Yes, there is one more thing now that you asked....LOL

We will not be able to attend the big race at Madras so if you are going, could you post at least the top 5 finishers (A & B) on here?  I appreciate it!

Your predictions are prolly close.  Wines is very determined and he's awesome behind the wheel of a LM, especially at Madras.   Tanner and Workman both have won Junior Championships there.  Walters ran the PCDLM and the PCDX there (as did Wines) and was quite successful.

With the point leaders starting up front it could be anyones win.  Walters will  start in the B's" won't he?..........I mean with the way the points are dictating the starting positions and the requirment of having 5 WoD races under yur belt?  With the tuff competion and starting in the rear, Walters will have his hands full getting to the front.  JMO

Madras can be a tricky track.  Turn 3 & 4 is way longer than 1&2.  Coming out of 2 is way tricky. (narrow)  So someone who is familar with the track will have a slight advantage.  I'm predicting the track surface will be dry slick.  (don't ask how I came up with that prediction..LOL) It might rubber up depending on when the Sprints run.

Hope you get your car fixed, Andrew! And good luck at SS.

Yep........ with the abundance of flying rock, dodgeball is a fair description!

Four years ago, while parked along the back fence, a sprint tossed a good sized rock through our big picture window on the toter home. Was ugly!

A rock picking party would no doubt benefit everyone............

Deb-

All of the WALMS races in '99 in Oregon had a higher total purse. We've also raced for that much in total purse at Banks with the PCXDS. They also had a few 10K to WIN races down in Medford back in the day...
