The Northwest Outlaw Street Stocks converge on Stateline Speedway for race number eight of the 2007 Championship Series. This Saturday, August 11th, will be the second and final visit to the Idaho speedway this year.
The season long points battle could not be any tighter among the top four drivers. It is truly an east vs west battle between wheelmen Kevin Carver and Mike Press; first and second seperated by one point, both from the Tacoma area and; third and forth gunslingers Gary Homad and Bob Grenier, six and seven points back, from the Wenatchee area. When the smoke clears on Saturday night will one of these top four or one of the over twenty-five other combatants be the first to reach Victory Lane and a $700 first prize?
The first visit on June 30th saw Gary Flammang of Everett lead wire to wire for his first victory of 2007. Local favorite and many time track champion, Randy Lasswell, blistered the track posting fast time by nearly three tenths only to have motor problems in his potent Granada.
