POST FALLS, IDAHO – January 4, 2008 – Stateline Speedway and Rocky Mountain Challenge Series officials announced today that the popular Southern Idaho based late model series will make their first ever appearance at Stateline Speedway Saturday August 2, 2008 part of the NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200 weekend.

"We are extremely pleased to be working with Mike (Minegar), and the great racers of the Rocky Mountain Challenge Series (RMCS)," said Joe Doellefeld, Stateline Speedway Promoter. "We are sure that our fans will enjoy their level and brand of late model racing here in the Inland Northwest."

The series will be showcased Saturday night during the RMCS Duel for the 200 race, and will feature a new roster of teams and superstars debuting at the NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200 weekend August 1-3, 2008.

"This is the fifth year for the series and we couldn't be more excited," said Mike Minegar, RMCS Series Director and Promoter. "We are thrilled to be part of the Idaho 200."

With a comprehensive rules package allowing various versions of the regions late models to compete together including tour cars, challenge cars and local divisions the Rocky Mountain Challenge Series' famous twenty-car invert will likely produce one the wildest Duel for the 200 races ever seen.

"We have a rule book that is very inclusive of all late model cars," said Minegar. "I think this builds something that is fair for all of the racers."

Starting its fifth season the Rocky Mountain Challenge Series, with races in Idaho and Utah, features the region's top drivers including; series champions John Newhouse, Dave Minegar and two-time champion Zan Sharp of Utah.

Plus a cast of past race winners including Bobby Latham III, Bryan Warf, Jimmy Eaton, Tom Hill, Craig Bell, Chad Cannon, Tyler Monroe, John Dillon and John Nesmith.

Jim Wulfenstein, Bruce Quale, Chris Ratterree, and Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring driver Thane Alderman are also one of many drivers that compete on the circuit.

Stateline Speedway's Idaho 200 weekend will join the series' other two big races held at Magic Valley Speedway in Twin Falls, Idaho as events that have helped the RMCS come to the forefront of racing in the State of Idaho and Utah.

The NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200, August 1-3, 2008, features Northwest's top late model teams in one of the largest stockcar events in the region. During the event, competitors from Inland Northwest Super Stock Series, Rocky Mountain Challenge Series along with the region's leading independent race teams battle it out in three days of competition.

Starting Friday and Saturday night with the Duel for the 200 races the weekend billed as "Northwest's Festival of Speed" concludes on Sunday August 3, with the annual 200-lap NAPA Auto Parts Idaho 200.
