INSSA Set for 2008 Debut

Winter may have lingered longer than usual in the northwest, but the INSSA late models (Inland Northwest Super Stock Association) are ready to heat up the track. INSSA kicks off its fifth season this Saturday night, April 26th at State Line Speedway.

INSSA is excited to start the year with the continued support of marketing partners Windermere Real Estate, located on Country Homes Blvd. near Division, who has been a great supporter of INSSA since its inception; Five Star Racing Bodies & FabTech Racing Products located on McKinnon in Spokane; Sunoco Race Fuel (the official fuel of INSSA); Hooters Owl Club & Casino in the Spokane Valley; and with new partners Pend Oreille Mechanical, Reader Construction (both of Sandpoint), and Les Schwab Tires in the Spokane Valley. INSSA would also like to thank association sponsors, GII2, FastKart, and Hoosier Racing Tires. Doyle Reader, President of INSSA, noted, “We are pleased to have all these fine sponsors on board with INSSA, and hope you will support those who help support our sport of choice”.

Returning drivers for the 2008 season include, Dave Garber, who posted 6 top 5 finishes, including 2 feature events wins last season en route to his 2007 championship, Corey Allard, looking for his first win in 2008, Jeff Little, Andy Brown, 2007 Rookie of the Year Greg McKinley, Jack Morse, Jessie Taylor, Steve Parrish, Bill Belton winner of last year’s Five Star Racing body, Dan Yonke, Rob Reinbold, Kit VanBuskirk and more. Also expected to make a couple appearances during the season, including the season opener Saturday, is AW Late Model Challenge series regular and local favorite, Shelby Thompson.

The majority of the season will be run at INSSA’s home track State Line Speedway, where the quarter mile action is always exciting. INSSA has seen awesome side by side action and photo finishes at State Line and are thankful to have the great support of Joe Deollefeld and Walt Doellefeld. And you won’t want to miss INSSA and the Rocky Mountain Challenge Series duel at the 9th Annual running of the Idaho 200 August 1-3, 2008. For more information, visit State Line Speedway's website.

After having the luxury of great racing action at two local tracks last year and while Spokane Raceway Park undergoes ownership change, INSSA was looking for a new place to play. And find it they did……..a trip to Montana Raceway Park in Kalispell, Montana marks the first trip east for the late model association. The Army/Navy Battle of the Borders 100 takes place on May 10th with a battle of the INSSA late models against the Montana late models from the Kalispell and Ronan areas, which includes some of the best in the northwest. While several INSSA drivers have made the annual trek in July to the Montana 200 in the past, this will mark the first attempt for many of the drivers to try out the high banked quarter mile oval. Everyone is looking forward to this event and competing with the Montana boys.

For more information and race results throughout the season, visit INSSA's website. Bundle up Saturday night and Let’s Go Racin!
