POST FALLS, IDAHO – May 3, 2008 – Nathan Fleury started on the front row and led all 50-laps of the ICAR Racing Series opener at Stateline Speedway Saturday night to take the win. The victory was Fleury’s first in the series.
The race was plagued by a large amount of wrecks and cautions. Rusty Webb finished second, Casey Akers third. Akers also won the fast dash. Stacey Rogers and Steve Bayne won heats. Colton Garber set fast time.
Cole Tupling captured the feature win for the INSCA Winged Sprints season debut holding of an ever present Kevin Burck in the 25-lap event. The win was Tupling’s first for the series. Burck finished second, Rick Nelson third.
The race was halted two times. One for a spin after Rafael Kurek contacted the wall. The race was red flagged when defending champion Tony Berry impacted the tire barriers after mechanical problems spreading fluids in turn two.
Justin Popple won the dash, Kevin Burck won the heat.
Multi time and defending Street Stock champion Randy Lasswell set fast time, won the heat and battled past 2007 Hobby Stock champion Ned Pennington for the win in the attrition filled 20-lap main event for the Street Stock division.
Pennington finished second, Ross Cooper third. Pat McSpadden won the dash and finished fourth.
Next Saturday the ASA AERO Exhaust Northwest Tour presented by ECHO, returns to Stateline Speedway for the only stop at the track in 2008. Early Stocks and Late Model 4’s will also be on track. Events start at 6pm with qualifying. Admission is $18.
The wild, wacky, unpredictable action of Wednesday Night Fever continues Wednesday at 6pm with the cars and superstars of the Road Runners, Fever 4’s, plus the wild and crazy Bump to Pass division. Adults are just $5.75; kids under the age of nine accompanied by adults are free.
