Rob Held looking for ride at Brownfield Memorial
ALK Promotions, September 12
Rob Held is doing something he hasn't had to do before. He's looking for a ride.
After some tough luck resulted in two destroyed race cars over the last couple of months, the Sutherlin, Ore. driver finds himself in the unfamiliar role of a driver without a race car at a bad time. Having raced since 2002, Held has never driven anyone else's car before. Held is hoping to find a ride for next weekend's Fred Brownfield Memorial Sprint Challenge at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash as he is unable to put his own car back together in time.
Held has four top-10 finishes on the ASCS Northwest Region tour in 2008 and also has a runner-up finish in non-sanctioned competition at Southern Oregon Speedway. Held also has feature victories at Cottage Grove Speedway during his career. Despite his recent misfortunes, Held currently sits ninth in the ASCS Northwest Region standings and with four races remaining he still has a legitimate shot at the top five, should he be able to race.
Held has his own motor he can use and he is also willing to pick up the car this weekend and prepare it himself next week before the event. Should anyone have an extra or have any information that could help Rob, he can be reached at rheld68@yahoo.com or by phone at (541) 680-3175.
