Things looked promising...nice looking track ...some hot cars... ...only one problem ...a dry track, wind, and no water truck ...race was called but not till I got some pics. This is not the Baja 1000 but you can see why no race. What racing there was showed some real promise.

Well they did hijack the Fairgrounds water truck (barely got it started) but it was too late at that point ...the water just sat on top. They run on a shoestring to say the least but ya gotta give them credit for trying...just like in the old days, they just want to race. It's either muddy and rough or smooth and dry. Me thinks they will get it right next time.

| Hi all NWFAN back here again. Been away and moved to Eastern WA about a year but still hang out at Skagit, 225 miles one way. Did I read correctly the Yakima is running again? Please say it's true. Give me some info so maybe I can check it out.

I see some postives here: Pretty good car count, some nice looking cars, quite a few sponsors listed on cars.
This will work but its going to take some extreme dedication and a few bucks. Oh and a water truck

You are from Puyallup... I used to live there... if that means anything. I have a brother who still lives there ...if that means anything. He works for the Sounders ...if that means anything. I'm done ...if that means anything.

Here is a real challenge for Kelly Hart!! If anybody can promote a family fun grass roots dirt track event at $2.00 a head-he can!! They may have to water the track Jim Raper 101 style-with a hose.

Digi, I grew up in Wenatchee if that means anything, I used to listen to Kelly Hart on the radio and at the now WVSO was East Wenatchee Speedway if that means anything, We used to make the travels most weekends to Yakima for the races if that means anything, MY brother is a machinist who works for me and builds racing gear on the side but he lives in Bonney Lake which really doesnt mean alot I guess. I feel like the six degrees of seperation for the 509!!! Digi one thing I have always wanted was a shirt that said " Palm Springs, The Yakima of California". I am not sure I can find one but it would return the sentiment for the sign I used to see heading to the Yakima tracks!! Big AL out

Hey Big Al,
I even lived in Bonney Lake for awhile if that means anything. I think that sign says "Welcome to Yakima the Palm Springs Of Washington" if that means anything. You can however have a T-shirt that says that or your version may work...at least yours is funny. If that means anything.

How was the crowd? How did they handle cancelling the races? Was there an announcer? Any media advertising?
Good Luck!!

So so crowd. They tore the place up when it was canceled. I jest What can you do? Media was there the first night but I never saw them again. It's a cheap night out even if you get sent home early.
