ASA NORTHWEST SPRINT CAR SERIES 6TH RACE OF THE 2008 CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON June 21ST
The sixth race of the 2008 Championship season, the Casey Diemert Classic presented by Windmill Inns at Douglas County Speedway, Roseburg, Oregon
Everett, WA – June 17, 2008 - The American Speed Association/Northwest Sprintcar Racing Association (ASA/NSRA) returns to Douglas County Speedway for their sixth race of the thirteen race 2008 championship season in Roseburg, OR with the running of Casey Diemert Classic presented by Windmill Inns, Saturday June 21st.
The Douglas County Speedway is currently a three-eighths mile paved racetrack. A recently completed renovation to the Roseburg facility included expanding from a third mile and widening of the track, as well as a complete resurfacing that increased the banking in the turns from nine to 11 degrees.
Expected at Douglas County Speedway are current points leader Matt Hein in the #98h car, second in points Jake Mann in the #51 car, Justin Mack in the #17 car currently third in points, returning 2007 champion Andy Alberding, fourth in points in the #76 car, Corey Lockwood in the #99r fifth in points, Sierra Jackson sixth in points in the #25j car, R. J. Fronsman seventh in points in the #25z car, Jeff Montgomery 2006 champion in the # 33J car slipping from first to eighth in season points, Adam Roduner ninth in points in the #82 car, and Greg Middendorf tenth in points in the #4 car. Others expected to compete in the Casey Diemert Classic are Rick Brown, five time ASA/NSRA champion, Jim Brock in the #37 car, Brett Smith in the #9 car, and Tony Thomas in the #57 car.
ASA/NSRA is the most exciting opened wheel racing on the west coast and by far the fastest. NSRA drivers currently hold 20 all time track records at venues throughout the region. These are open wheeled, winged sprint cars running on paved ovals utilizing 750 horsepower alcohol-burning engines running on tracks that vary in length from quarter mile to five-eights mile facilities.
