Awesome news!!!! Kuddos to Shark Racing engines to step up and do this!!!

Greg has been working his a$$ off to promote ASCS racing in the Northwest, having Shark Racing engines join Greg in the quest to continue the NW as the PLACE to race 360's on the West Coast is proof that Greg is doing things right for the racer. Trust me Mark would not be doing this if he didn't believe in what Greg is doing.

I know he has some more exciting news to announce soon. Man this is shaping up to be Another great year for the best 360 racing in the world.

Obviously you've never been a part of the race to get into the buffet line at the banquet. There is some nasty maneuvers to get the lead in that battle... :)

Kidding.

Good call!!! It was 20 events (19 races + banquet), not 20 races. I'll do my best not to fail the people in the future. But I'm human... so... well.... I just promise to do my very, very best. :)

Probably just an oversite. First half of Sept has historically been a terrible time to run a traveling show. Races are not well attended by cars or fans because (as I have been told) it is the start of school year, hunting season etc. Also all the big boys have just taken a swing thru the N/W. Good decision I would say...

with the race in montana last year, cut down on many drivers that might have run the entire series. if you hadn't heard, we are suffering through a serious depression. most of the shows were well attended and myself as a fan, love to hear how hard everybody in this tour is working to continue to expand.

lighten up a bit. this is good news. can't wait for the season to get here!

388 you can bust my chops all you want still won't make me like pill draws. you said good news I said great news. is the mind clouded this day? clouded minds lead to big problems sometimes it takes lawyers to fix. sometimes you simply forget who your picture taking. hahahaha. yes downturn in the economy is perfect time to expand business. Love that business plan. no worry though you have to hit rock bottom before you can climb out. yep those 8 car shows last year shouldn't be hard to top.
lighten up a lot 388. this is great news and seeing all the race teams jump on board here is encouraging. scheduling conflicts with minisprint tracks that pay nearly as much as full sprinters isn't one of mine but you on the other hand. we each have our demons eh? they qualify at clay cup right? hahahaha

Do fans really like to watch qualifying that much ? Is it really even worth qualifying if you are only given 1 lap ? Just curious what people really think and not trying to stir up a hornets nest just wondering. It also seems that even though the ASCS draws pills, the cream seems to always rise to the top, Crockett, Stewart, J. Johnson and the usual suspects still are winning and I am not aware of any race regional or national where a no name guy won because he drew a good pill ? With the spec heads I don't think it makes as much of a difference but it always seemed to me with the open engines (360 or 410), the teams with the most money and high dollar engines were fast qualifiers ? I also realize that the higher dollar teams had the best drivers. Again, just curious what the typical fan thinks, is the racing better or worse with qualifying ?

PS- I don't really care personally as far as qualifying or not but, prefer 2 laps if there is qualifying. I also think if the car counts are low, there needs to be a filler class or what I would like to see is a 2 heat race format but that is a whole different topic ! :?

to answer your question br yes I do. its OK though if I don't like it I can go someplace else like GregB says.  hahahahaha

and here is a situation where the pill draw didn't exactly get all the cream to the top

I hear ya, I don't mind watching qualifying myself but, I would rather watch racing. I have heard on here and at tracks "if you don't like this or that, you can go elsewhere" and I DO NOT think that is a good business moto what so ever ! Now, with that being said, I haven't personally heard Greg say that. As far as that Tucson race, I would have to put Sammy in the "cream" catagory although he may not have been the fastest that night not to mention I can't stand him ! :?

was a passive move by him for sure br but well understood by even the simplest minds like myself. heres the links. won't include the direct email that was more direct. that one is saved for private.

"Qualifying/format - we are part of a National sanctioning body.  (I do not make decisions nationally ... yet :) ) This sanctioning body does not qualify.  Sorry its just not an ASCS thing.  GHR, Skagit & the Grove do qualify at their weekly shows ... I hope you are attending and enjoying."

your post just seemed very negative to what greg and the rest of the ascs people are trying to do to expand the series. that's nice to see. it looks very encouraging to see this time of work being done by those in charge.

as for the pill draw, i am definitely with you. don't like it one bit. was one of the most vocal on this site last year stating my dislike. so we definitely agree on that.

agreed, marc huson is definitely adding to the series as well. but some of that probably has to do with greg's work as well.

not trying to bust your chops. just hate in when it appears that someone is knocking those that deserve pats on the back and not to the nose.

no matter, hope to see you and all the rest of the fans at many of the ascs events this year.

take care!
