Spokane, WA (4/29/08) – The Inland Northwest Sprint Car Association (INSCA) will try once again to kick off the 2008 season this Saturday night at the Stateline Speedway in Post Falls, Idaho.
After being snowed out two weeks ago the fire-breathing action of the winged sprint cars hope to return under the lights with a full field expected. Past INSCA series regular Ricky Nelson will be back after a one-year hiatus, as well as other teams from around the region including Canada.
“Other commitments kept me away from racing last season and like most racers, it hurt to sit idle,” commented Nelson, “but the INSCA club made strides last season and I am very excited about getting back on the track this weekend in our Park Model Homes #43 sprint car.”
Another team that is ready to rock and roll for the 2008 season is the #65 Inland Northwest Consultants entry driven by Kevin Burck and owned by longtime team owner and current INSCA board member, Red Perkins of St. Maries, Idaho. Perkins had this to share, “I am very pleased with the direction this INSCA Sprint Club is going and proud to be a part of this race community. I feel with our common sense rules package, organized pre-race tech standards and our dedicated club members, 2008 will once again be a great growth year for the INSCA regional sprint racing series.” As a many time Champion car owner, the Red Perkins #65 sprint car, with team members Critter, Reven, Mikie and Tommy, is well prepared to once again provide the race fans the excitement on race day that they have come to expect.
Qualifying will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday May, 3rd at the Stateline Speedway in Post Falls, Idaho. For more information about the Inland Northwest Sprint Car Association visit http://www.INSCA.us or call either 800.336.2682 or 509.499.9582.

This weekend should be a lot of fun and it'll be nice to knock the dust off after such a long, tough winter!
If there is anyone out there that hasn't yet seen a race with this series, come out and take a look this weekend. The current rules package allows for great competition at a reasonable price to the racer, which should translate to growing car counts.
I look forward to seeing everyone this weekend.
Tony

| Yeah, that is a strange deal. Not good for anyone. As I understand it all, the INSCA.us Sprint Club's 2008 race dates at Stateline Speedway are/were determined by Stateline Speedway in mid-winter based on best published information at that time. It is never easy, with only so many "early year' race dates available for race tracks to establish their dates for their year long race series. The INSCA.us program has six races at Stateline Speedway as well as two at Mission Valley Speedway in Montana. Scheduling two May events to get the season started and with the big Memorial Day event scheduled first and the other track required events needed, resulted in this unfortunate May 3rd race day situation. The Ephrata "360' is a stand alone, cast iron/open compression motor rules event and with the INSCA.us program based on a different motor rules 'flat top' only program. They are in fact not in direct standard rules competitive conflict. I have been told that the standard Ephrata track sprint car race series program is not scheduled for the 2008 season. As we all know in other race series/venues across the region, the standard race track year long featured programs unfortunately must come first on the local track racing calender. I have been told directly by Board Members that every effort has been made to try and find away around it all. The entire INSCA.us program would be proud to try and schedule a points race at Ephrata any time available. Also was told that 8-10 of the INSCA.us regulars were excited to compete at this years Ephrata "360" program. The INSCA.us club did not control either track schedule. Both race tracks and series are great folks and are dedicated to their programs and their race fans. The INSCA.us 2006 INSCA.us Champion lives in Ephrata! Every effort was made to 'revise' 2008 schedules but it just was not doable. But at least they tried. Maybe better luck next year. Our very best to both programs this week end. Good people all!

This is quite a good question given the scheduling situation this weekend. It is unfortunate that it worked out in this manner, but as was stated above: Stateline Speedway released their schedule earlier than most racing venues for 2008 and had this date scheduled long before the date of the Open Comp race was made available. Several attempts were made by both entities to try and work out a reasonable shifting of race dates to accomodate everyone, but regretably it couldn't be done. Although the INSCA group is working on becoming a viable regional series, the Stateline Speedway has provided a home track venue for a number of years. As a series with a full schedule of racing we were locked into several dates rather than hosting a single, stand alone event.
In a perfect world both venues would have full fields and the fans would be treated to a night of great competiton. We wish Ephrata the best of luck with their event and should our race be cancelled early due to inclement weather I would anticipate several teams making the haul down there.
Thanks for the question and good luck to everyone this weekend.

| Stateline Speedway weather looks great for todays INSCA.us Sprint Car event. Those are some beautiful sprint cars and certainly fan favorites with their tight wheel-to-wheel on-track performance. I heard that one of them was turning laps into the elevens on Thursday nights practice session...on old tires! Wow that is fast! The regional Gold Standard "Quick Rick Brown" owns the track record of 11.893 sec. Could be a very exciting year for the INSCA.us race group. Our very best safe wishes to all who race today ...in anything...anywhere!
