Brock Lemley won the 1200s (went flag to flag), JR Thomas won the 600 Open class (shortened to 11 laps due to the dreaded "R" word), even an appearance by Mr. Kelly Hart

Thomas Wins Weather Shortened Main
8/28/09
Deming, WA - A great night of racing was cut just a little short on Friday night at Deming Speedway. With Les Schwab sponsoring the nights action, JR Thomas put on a show at the end of the evening in the Speedmart PMP 600s. Working the top side of an extremely dry slick race track, Thomas went side by side with Jake Benson for a number of laps before beating him to the stripe on the close of lap eleven. Right after that, the skies opened up and mother nature decided the racing should be over for the night, handing the win to JR.
In the Advanced Sprint Car & Toys for Trucks 1200s, Brock Lemley found himself with another win as he picked off Clennon Holloway in lapped traffic on lap 11. Lemley found the last remaining moisture in the low groove and used it to work underneath Holloway, then slid up in turn three to stick the pass and secure the win.
Hayden Schmidt visited victory lane again in the Triple X Race Co 600 restricted class. After the front row could not get the race started, row two was inverted to row one, giving Schmidt the pole position and the lead going into turn one, which he would not relinquish in the 20 lap, caution filled feature.
Jake Benson continued his string of wins in the 250 division, coming from his eighth place starting spot to take the lead from Leslie Davies on lap six on his way to the win. Benson has won every 250 main he's driven in this year, and almost every race as he grabbed a clean sweep on the night.
Isaac Abenroth returned to victory lane after winning the Kasey Kahne Junior Sprint Feature. Abenroth inherited the lead on lap 5 after race leader Ashleigh Johnson and econd place car Kyle Mitchell tangled in turn four, sending Johnson to the back of the pack and Mitchell to the pits.
Deming Speedway is closed next week for the World of Outlaws at Skagit Speedway, but will be back in action September 11th for Armed Forces Night, where all Military, Paramedics, and Firemen receive 50% off admission. For ticket information, log on to http://www.demingspeedway.com
