Hello my name is Craig Pennington and I am the President of the Wasatch Youth Racing Association here in Salt Lake City, Utah. We are in the process of developing plans for our race tracks for youth racing in Utah. We are planning on building a 1/10th mile track for our Outlaw quarter midget club then on the outside building a 1/6th mile track for mini sprints. We have some plans drawn up but we were curious as to what the dimensions are at Deming as I know it is a very competitive track and would like to have something to compare are track design to. Any help that you guys could give me would be appreciated.

Also I am trying to track down somebody for the quarter midget club that runs at Skagit Speedway as I would like to come up and run mini dirt cup if they plan on running it again next year. The link for our site is http://www.wasatchqm.com Thanks

Craig- http://www.demingspeedway.com has a phone # listing for Paul + Bev Lemley, the owners. They can tell you everything you need to know regarding dimensions.

Craig,

Congratulations on being able to build a new race track and being able to plan it.

The Skagit Quarter Midget Club does plan on returning for the next several years.

I am responsible for the track maintenance at Skagit and work with track owner Steve Beitler.

Are you going to be a QMA sanctioned track?

We are not running under the QMA but follow there rules closely to allow QMA cars to join us on off weekends.

Best of luck and talk to you again.

No we will not be a QMA sanctioned club. Our rules will be very similar to yours and the outlaw clubs back in PA.

I would like to talk to you sometime especially about track maintenance. If you could send me a message with a phone number so I can pick your brain. Thanks

If you are looking for a track full of holes, lots of dust, mud puddles, and huge wet spots, this is the guy to talk to. just ask him, he knows it all !!!!!!!!!:D

QM,

I will be at the track Thursday evening and most of the day Friday, like I spend my vacation time on every week before a race, working on the track. Hopefully you can join me and help make the type of racing surface I wish I could produce.

Can I count on you to be there and show me what I am doing wrong?

Doubt it, you don't even sign your postings.

Scott
