Former Clay Cup Champs Win on Conoco Phillips Night
5/9/08

Deming, WA- It was a good night for former Clay Cup Winners at Deming Speedway Friday night. Multiple Time Clay Cup Champion and huge fan favorite Brock Lemley wired the field in the 25 lap Lifestyles RV 1200 main. It was an odd feature to say the least; Lemley was never really challenged due to the multiple cautions and stoppages that occurred. Seven out of sixteen cars finished the feature which was checkered flagged at the twenty-three lap mark due to time constraints.

Multiple time Clay Cup Champion Ben Hogarth scored win number one in the Frontier Chevrolet / Speedmart 600’s. Hogarth was a wire to wire victor as well, finishing the race with a half lap advantage over second place finishing JR Thomas and third place Trey Starks.

Brandon Turner received redemption in the Advanced Sprint Car and Toys for Trucks 250’s. After leading most of the race last week only to incur technical difficulties, Turner took the lead from brother Eric Turner on lap two and won this weeks feature. Jake Benson made it interesting late race by challenging Turner a few times unsuccessfully.

Chad Sinner has become quite the force to be reckoned with in the PMP Chassis 600 Restricted division. Sinner led another main wire to wire for another win in the ever growing class. In a recurring theme, Jacob Buckenmeyer finished second and made a valiant late race charge, but was unsuccessful. Look for these two to continue this developing rivalry deep into the summer.

Congratulations go out to first time winner Skyler Pawlowicz in the Kasey Kahne Jr Sprints. Pawlowicz used a middle-high line to navigate far away from Austin Sheridan who was in search of his fourth main event victory in a row.

Next weekend is Triple X Race Co night at Deming Speedway. All five classes will be in action. Time Trials begin at six with racing scheduled for seven. For ticket information and information on this years Clay Cup Nationals, visit http://www.demingspeedway.com
