In what is one of the longest running traditions in "Grass Roots" northwest motorsports, Ephrata Raceway Park will play host to the 2008 version of the Con Agra Foods SPUD CUP 75 featuring the Northwest Outlaw Street Stocks Saturday night May 24th.
If history is any indication, qualifying for this race will be critical for an expected field of over thirty Outlaws. 2006 winner Josh Wilson of Arlington and 2007 winner Mike Easley of Tumwater will lead a strong contingent of Western Washington bandits trying to take the $700 winners check, but a stout group of local veterans have other plans.
Fresh off a local points win a week ago at ERP, Ephrata native Mitch Kleyn's return to streets from the Modified ranks makes him an early favorite. Young Guns Mike Knutson of Quincy, and Dustin Kagele will be looking for their first NWOSS victory at ERP.
"The guys are chomping at the bit to go racing after the unfortunate rain out at South Sound May 10th," stated NWOSS Director Pat Boman, "We have been invited back on Memorial Day Weekend for the sixth concecutive year and each time the folks at ERP make it more special for our group."

Ephrata Raceway Park would like to thank Mike Easley for his writing contributions in promoting the NWOSS at ERP this weekend.
