|Evergreen Speedway BECU Father’s Day Cup & Driver’s Reunion
For Immediate Release (June 13): This Saturday, June 15th at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds is a celebration of Father’s Day presented by BECU. It is also the annual Racers Reunion Night where past and present racers receive free tickets. The night will feature the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Speedway Chevrolet Super Late Models on the 3/8-mile track for the ‘Father’s Day Cup 100’, NASCAR Street Stocks, NASCAR Foster Press Mini-Stocks, NASCAR Interstate Batteries Hornets and NASCAR Junior Hornets. Racing begins at 6pm. The points battle for the season championships is hotly contested in all points divisions as the season nears the halfway point.
The ‘Father’s Day Cup 100’ for the Super Late Models on the 3/8-mile oval has the best drivers in the Northwest competing for Evergreen, NASCAR Whelen All American Series State and National points. Current point leader Tyler Tanner (last season’s Evergreen Speedway champion) (Auburn, WA) has been a master on the 3/8-mile oval this season. Tanner is 3 for 3 on the 3/8-mile and leads the points for the NASCAR State of Washington and Evergreen championships. Tanner’s 225 points leads another former champion Naima Lang (Snohomish, WA) by 36 points. Lang has had 2-thirds in his 3-starts this season. Holding the third spot is Doni Wanat (Woodinville, WA) with a second and third in the three races on the 3/8-mile.
Another close fight for a championship has developed in the NASCAR Street Stock Division with Steve Ptacek (Snohomish, WA) leading the pack by a mere 13 points over Dave Lund (Arlington, WA). In third is Shane Sawin (Bothell, WA).
NASCAR Mini-Stock Division leader Thomas Stanford (Sammamish, WA) holds a very slim 1-point margin over Jonah Vick (Arlington, WA). Colton Price (is in third 36 points back of the leader.
Cole Rarden (Granite Falls, WA) and Jamie Corbett (Arlington, WA) are challenging each other for the NASCAR Hornets championship with Rarden leading by 5-points. Mike Jensen (Monroe, WA) has a grasp on the third spot in standings.
