I have just learned that legendary Northwest driver Len Sutton has lost his battle with cancer.
From starting in the roadsters in 1946, through eight races in the Indy 500 and for many years after his on track career, Len Sutton was a great ambassador and representative of motorsports. The Northwest and the country has lost on of the best.

Rest in peace, my friend.

RIP Len.  When I first read this on another message board last night, I felt kinda sad.  But the more I thought about it, why be sad?  That guy got his money's worth out of every minute he spent on this earth!
I read his book and loved it. I heard tales of his run with Golden Wheels at Banks a couple years ago.  Most memorable quote from a friend about Len that day was: "That effin' old guy coulda won the regular midget main with an offy, 6 inch wide tires, and without a roll cage!"
You had a heck of a good run, Len, now go home and get some rest!  I'm only hoping I can get at least half as good of use out of this life! Good job, Len!
